This week, we recognize and celebrate Dr. Susan Sickler as she enters retirement after 23 years. We are so grateful for the impact she has made on her patients, on Willow Bend Pediatrics as a practice, and on the profession of pediatrics. She truly is a one of the most outstanding and caring pediatricians who goes above and beyond for her patients. Below is her written letter to her patients. If you’d like to leave a note or well wishes to Dr. Sickler, we will be placing notes in the front area of the clinic where you can do so, and we will make sure Dr. Sickler receives them all. We know many of you did not get a chance to say goodbye to her. Her presence here is greatly missed ❤️

Today is a reminder not only to celebrate your dedication and compassion, but also to recognize how challenging it has become to be a doctor in today’s world. Long hours, emotional strain, rising expectations, less trust/respect/appreciation, and an ever-changing healthcare landscape make your role more demanding than ever before.
