Doctor Anglin has been in practice since 1998. She is a graduate of Baylor University and went on to receive her Medical Degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. Paul Medical Center and the University of Texas Southwestern-Parkland Hospital System. Doctor Anglin is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. As emotional support can be as important as medical care, Doctor Anglin has started a support group for men and women with the breast cancer gene (BRCA). Worth group is the first of its kind locally and has joined FORCE, the national hereditary cancer support.

An insurance approval should give patients peace of mind, not leave them facing uncertainty after surgery.

One of the biggest concerns with post-surgery payment denials is that the procedure has already happened. The care has been provided, but the financial uncertainty remains.

For independent practices like ours, repeated denials can threaten the resources needed to continue caring for patients. This is why we need more awareness and accountability around the insurance approval process. Patients deserve clarity, and doctors deserve a process they can rely on.

Hearing a new medical term during your appointment can feel overwhelming, especially when it’s about your breast cancer care. “Sentinel lymph node biopsy” is one we hear patients ask about often.

In simple terms, it helps your care team learn whether cancer cells have traveled to the lymph nodes under your arm. That information helps guide your treatment plan. Because surgeons can find the specific nodes that matter most, usually only a few need to be removed.

Every patient’s situation is different, so if this procedure is part of your plan, ask your surgeon how it applies to you. No question is too small. 💗

Depending on your diagnosis and individual circumstances, breast-conserving surgery may be an option. Every patient and every diagnosis is different, which is why having a conversation with your care team about your surgical options is so important.
