To a toddler, play is more than just fun—it’s how they learn about the world around them! 🧸💙

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recognizes play as an important part of healthy child development. Through play, children build skills in areas like language, problem-solving, movement, creativity, and social-emotional development.

Ways parents can support play:

✨ Follow your child's interests and let them lead.

✨ Talk, read, and interact during playtime.

✨ Provide safe, age-appropriate toys that encourage exploration.

✨ Make time for active and imaginative play every day.

You don’t need expensive toys—many of the best learning moments happen through simple play, connection, and curiosity. 💙

Sunny days are made for making memories—but don't forget to protect your child's skin! ☀️💙

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends:

☀️ Use a broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher on children 6 months and older.

🧴 Apply sunscreen 15–30 minutes before heading outdoors and reapply every 2 hours, or sooner after swimming or sweating.

👒 Sunscreen works best when paired with wide-brimmed hats, UV-protective sunglasses, and lightweight protective clothing.

👶 For babies younger than 6 months, the best protection is to avoid direct sunlight and use shade whenever possible. If shade and protective clothing aren't available, a small amount of sunscreen may be applied to exposed areas like the face and backs of the hands.

Protecting your child's skin today helps reduce the risk of sunburn and skin damage later in life. 💙

Diaper changes happen a lot during your baby's first years! Here are a few tips recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) to help keep your little one safe and comfortable. 👶💙

✔️ Never leave your baby unattended on a changing table—even for a moment.

✔️ Wipe front to back, especially for girls, to help reduce the spread of bacteria.

✔️ Allow the diaper area to dry before putting on a fresh diaper to help prevent irritation.

✔️ If your baby has diaper rash or is prone to irritation, apply a thick barrier ointment or cream containing zinc oxide or petrolatum.

✔️ Wash your hands before and after every diaper change to help prevent the spread of germs.

If your baby's diaper rash is severe, lasts more than a few days, develops blisters or sores, or is accompanied by a fever, contact your pediatrician.

💙 Healthy skin starts with simple diaper-changing habits!

Watching those first steps is a milestone many families look forward to! 💙

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, many children begin taking their first independent steps around 12 months, though a normal range extends from about 9 to 18 months. Before walking independently, babies often pull to stand, cruise along furniture, and walk while holding a caregiver's hands.

The best way to encourage walking is to provide:

• Plenty of supervised floor time

• Safe spaces to explore

• Encouragement and praise

• Opportunities to practice without rushing the process

Every child develops at their own pace. If your child is not walking independently by 18 months or you have concerns about their development, talk with your pediatrician.

❤️ Celebrate every little step—they all lead somewhere amazing.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends introducing solid foods at around 6 months of age when your baby shows signs of readiness. Before starting solids, babies should have good head and neck control and be able to sit with support.

A few tips for starting solids:

🥑 Continue breast milk or formula as your baby’s main source of nutrition during the first year.

🥕 Offer a variety of age-appropriate foods with different flavors and textures.

🥜 Introduce common allergens (such as peanut and egg) when your baby is ready, in safe forms, and discuss with your pediatrician if your baby has a higher risk of food allergy.

👶 Always supervise your baby while eating and make sure foods are prepared in a way that reduces choking risk.

Remember: early feeding is about exploration, learning, and building healthy habits—not replacing milk feeds right away. 💙
