This is an orthokeratology contact lens. A custom lens made for overnight wear to correct vision.
Now this lens is not a perfect lens, so there's still some work to be done here because these are truly customized to each patients eyes.
Dr Nguyen is a certified myopia management eye doctor, she utilizes this technique to help kids' eyes from getting worse due to myopia !
Myopia is when the eye is too big and too long for the child's age, which causes symptoms of blurry vision far away.
Currently in the US, 1 in every 3 kids have myopia and it is predicted to be 1 in 2 by 2050. More myopia means more problems later on in life.
