Smile Club Rule #6: New school year, same smile confidence 🎒✨

August is here, which means the backpacks are coming out, routines are getting real again, and family calendars are about to fill up fast.

Before school takes over, this is the perfect time to make sure your child’s smile is healthy, comfortable, and ready for the year ahead.

A back-to-school dental visit can help us check for cavities, clean away plaque buildup, review brushing habits, talk about sealants, and catch small concerns before they turn into bigger treatment needs. 🦷

At Teeth R’ Us Children’s Dentistry, Dr. Smith and our team make visits feel positive, personalized, and kid-friendly from the moment your child walks in.

Whether your family is new to our office or already part of the Teeth R’ Us family, we would love to help your child start the school year with confidence.

Call or text 972-597-8878 to schedule your child’s August visit.

A straighter smile can do more than improve appearance. 😁

For the right child or teen, clear aligners may support better bite alignment, easier brushing, improved confidence, and a smile they feel proud to show.

Dr. Smith takes a thoughtful approach to clear aligner conversations. We look at your child’s age, dental development, bite, spacing, crowding, habits, and ability to wear aligners consistently.

Because clear aligners are not one-size-fits-all. They require responsibility, good hygiene, and the right timing. ⏱️

For many families, they can be a discreet and convenient orthodontic option, especially for image-conscious teens or children who are ready for that level of care.

Our goal is to help parents understand the options and choose what makes sense for their child’s smile, function, and confidence.

Have questions about clear aligners? Ask us next time you come in.

Smile Club Rule #5: Little habits create big smile energy!

The best smile routines usually are not complicated. They are the tiny things kids practice again and again until they start to feel normal:

Two minutes of brushing.
A sip of water after snacks.
Flossing the teeth that touch.
Wearing a mouthguard during sports.
Choosing water more often than juice.
Letting a grown-up help with the tricky spots.

At Teeth R’ Us, we love helping families turn oral health into something that feels doable, positive, and confidence-building. 😎

Here’s to big smile energy all summer long!

For kids, the little details of a dental visit can make a big difference.

A calm room.
A friendly face.
A team that explains what’s happening.
A pace that helps your child feel safe.
A space designed to feel welcoming instead of overwhelming.

Our treatment rooms are created with children and families in mind. Whether your child is here for a cleaning, a filling, a white crown, a laser treatment, or a visit that requires a little extra support, our goal is to make the experience feel as comfortable and positive as possible.

That is what Teeth R’ Us is all about: helping kiddos feel cared for from the moment they walk in to the moment they leave smiling 😊

Parents, this is your reminder: your child’s dental care does not have to feel like one more thing you are supposed to do perfectly.

Oral health routines work best when they fit real family life.

A few simple self-care-minded tips for parents:

• Keep toothbrushes where kids can easily reach them
• Use a timer or song to make brushing feel less like a battle
• Let your child pick a toothbrush color they love
• Prep water bottles before camp, daycare, or summer outings
• Keep flossers visible, not hidden in a drawer
• Schedule dental visits before the school-year rush

At Teeth R’ Us, we believe supporting children also means supporting the people who care for them.

You do not need a perfect routine. You need a rhythm that works for your family. 🪥

Smile Club Rule #4: A smile is connected to more than teeth. 🦷

The way a child eats, speaks, sleeps, and moves their tongue can all play a role in their oral health and development.

That’s why tongue-tie care is such an important part of what we do at Teeth R’ Us.

A tongue-tie can limit how the tongue moves, which may affect breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, speech, oral hygiene, and comfort as a child grows. For some babies, it may look like clicking while feeding, difficulty latching, long or frustrating feeds, or slow weight gain. For older children, it may show up as speech concerns, trouble moving the tongue freely, or difficulty clearing food from the teeth.

Dr. Smith takes a whole-child approach to tongue-tie evaluations. When treatment is recommended, she uses advanced laser technology to release restricted tissue with precision and care. ✨

Helping kids smile brighter = helping them latch better, speak better, and thrive with confidence 🩵

POV: your kiddo leaves the dentist feeling like the main character. ✨

At Teeth R’ Us, we’re big believers in celebrating the little wins.

Sat in the chair? Iconic.
Opened wide? Amazing.
Tried something new? So brave.
Asked questions? We love to see it.
Got through a visit that felt big? That deserves a moment.

Our Great Patient Tokens are one of the fun ways we help kids feel proud after their appointment. Because a positive dental experience is not just about clean teeth.

It’s about confidence. Trust. Encouragement. And helping kids realize, “Wait… I can do this.”

Here’s to tiny tokens, big smiles, and dental visits that end on a high note. 🤩

Smile Club Rule #3: Do not wait until the week before school starts. 🎒

Back-to-school season sneaks up fast, and dental appointments are one of the easiest things to forget. A summer check-up can help your child start the school year with a healthy, confident smile.

During a routine visit, we can:
• Check for cavities or early concerns
• Clean away plaque and buildup
• Review brushing and flossing habits
• Talk about sealants for cavity prevention
• Check growth and development
• Answer parent questions before the busy school year begins

If your child has been complaining about tooth sensitivity, avoiding certain foods, or if you have noticed crowding, discoloration, or changes in their bite, summer is a great time to come in.

Visit teethruschildrensdentistry.com to book your next appointment.

There is a difference between a dentist who sees children and a board-certified pediatric dentist. 🦷

Dr. Nathifa Smith is a board-certified pediatric dentist, which means her training and commitment go beyond general dental care. Pediatric dentists complete additional specialty training focused specifically on infants, children, teens, behavior guidance, growth and development, sedation, special healthcare needs, and the unique dental concerns that happen during childhood.

For families, that matters.

It means your child’s care is guided by someone who understands baby teeth, growing jaws, dental anxiety, sensory needs, treatment timing, and how to help children build trust in the dental chair. It also means parents have a provider who can explain options clearly and recommend care based on what is best for the child in front of her.

At Teeth R’ Us, Dr. Smith combines advanced pediatric training with a warm, thoughtful approach that helps families feel supported from the very first visit.

That is the Teeth R’ Us difference. 🩷
