Recap: YogaBoo Kids Research Pilot 🧘‍♀️🎮

We were thrilled to team up with Yoga Bharati USA for the YogaBoo Kids Research Pilot at Aadhar Clinic on August 1 — a fun, hands-on study exploring how yoga impacts kids' focus and well-being!

Designed for ages 8-12, the pilot used YogaBoo, an interactive yoga game developed at MIT, to measure how children's focus and mood shift after a single guided yoga session. Kids played YogaBoo, took part in an engaging yoga session led by our experienced instructors, then played again — helping us see firsthand whether movement and mindfulness can make a real difference in how kids feel and focus.

Aadhar Mental Wellness and Yoga Bharati Dallas are teaming up for the YogaBoo Kids Research Pilot — a fun, hands-on study for kids ages 8–12. Your child will play YogaBoo (an interactive game developed at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) 🎮), enjoy a lively yoga session with experienced instructors, then play again so we can see what changed!

What a wonderful time at yesterday's Allen Neighbors Network event! 🤝

Aadhar Mental Wellness' Community Liaison, Anabel Jasso, enjoyed connecting with fellow community partners and learning from Rachel Redmond of Meridell Achievement Center, who sponsored the gathering and shared an inside look at their comprehensive behavioral health services — including their evidence-based treatment approaches and the populations they serve.

A highlight was learning about Meridell's Patriot Support Program, which provides trauma-informed behavioral health treatment for military-connected children and adolescents ages 6–18, helping young people build resilience and healthy coping skills.

Thank you to Rachel Redmond, the Meridell team, Neighbors Counseling and Armor Brewing Company for hosting us in your incredible space. We look forward to the next Neighbors Network gathering! 💙

🌟 Team Spotlight: Nanci Garcia, QMHP | Case Manager at Aadhar

Meet Nanci Garcia-Montalvo, one of the compassionate hearts behind Aadhar Mental Wellness. A San Francisco State University Psychology graduate, Nanci brings real depth to her work—including her time as a Residential Crisis Counselor at an Acute Diversion Unit in San Francisco, where she supported individuals through severe mental health and substance use challenges with crisis intervention, counseling, and case management.

Today, she helps clients navigate systems of care, build coping skills, and move toward independent, fulfilling lives. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Nanci leads with authentic connection and a belief in mutual growth.

Off the clock? Weight training, a good book, and chasing the nearest "beach." 🌊
