Rainy Season = Bufo Toad Season
Bufo (cane) toads are more active during South Florida's rainy season. Their toxin can be life-threatening if your pet mouths or bites one.
Supervise pets outdoors, especially at dawn, dusk, and after rain. If your pet has contact with a Bufo toad, rinse their mouth with running water for 10–15 minutes and seek emergency veterinary care immediately.
