If you struggle with dry eye and keep using drops you’re not getting to the root of the problem.

Let's bust a few eye exam myths — straight from the team that does them every day. 👁️

'My vision feels fine, so I don't need an exam' is the one we hear most — and it's also the most common reason serious conditions go undetected until later stages.

Comprehensive exams check a lot more than your ability to read a chart.

RF vs. IPL for dry eye here’s what nobody tells you. 👇

Both treat the root cause of most dry eye: blocked meibomian glands. But they work completely differently.

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) uses light pulses on the surface of the skin. It reduces inflammation and closes off abnormal blood vessels but the energy stays shallow. It’s also limited by skin tone, since darker skin absorbs more light and raises the risk of burns.

RF (Radiofrequency) delivers heat deep into the tissue right where your oil glands actually live. That deep, controlled warmth melts the hardened oil clogging your glands and stimulates collagen at the same time. Translation: your glands start working again AND the skin around your eyes tightens up. Yes, that’s a real side effect people pay for on its own. 💆

The other difference? RF is safe for ALL skin tones. No exclusions, no workarounds.

That’s why we chose RF at Premier Eye Center. Deeper treatment, works for everyone, and most patients describe it as a warm massage around the eyes not a procedure.

Watching your kid’s eyesight get worse every year is stressful. OrthoK is a non-surgical option that reshapes the eye overnight so kids see clearly all day without glasses or daytime contacts, while slowing how fast their vision changes. This patient started young, stuck with it, and now he’s heading off to college with his vision handled. Proud of this one. 👏

Here’s how it works: you wear a set of custom-fitted lenses while you sleep. Overnight, they gently reshape the front surface of your eye. You take them out in the morning and you see clearly all day. No glasses, no contacts, no surgery.

The best part? It’s completely reversible. Stop wearing them and your eyes return to normal.

Why people love it:
→ Freedom from glasses & daytime contacts
→ Perfect for athletes, swimmers & active kids
→ Non-surgical & 100% reversible
→ Proven to slow down myopia progression in children — so their prescription doesn’t keep getting worse year after year

If you or your kid are tired of the glasses/contacts cycle, this could be the move.

Punctal plugs are tiny inserts that stop your tears from draining away too fast so your eyes stay comfortable without the constant reapplying. No surgery. No downtime. You won’t even feel them.

If your drops aren’t lasting, it might be time to ask about this.

Parents, ask your optometrist one question at your kid’s next visit: “What’s their axial length?”

Prescription tells you if your child’s vision changed. Axial length tells you why. It measures how long the eyeball is growing front to back and in myopia, a longer eye is the real driver behind worsening vision.

Here’s why it matters: prescriptions can fluctuate, but axial length gives us a precise, trackable number to see if myopia is actually progressing and whether treatment is working. Catching that growth early means we can slow it down and protect your child’s eyes long-term.

Don’t just ask if the prescription changed. Ask about the axial length.
