I am excited to share that I have joined Baptist Health as Chief of Breast Surgical Oncology at Miami Cancer Institute | Baptist Health - Plantation, a Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center affiliate.

Although I am excited for this opportunity and the ability to continue advancing breast cancer care, this transition is also bittersweet. During my time at Broward Health, I had the privilege of working closely with an exceptional team across my office, the Cancer Center, the operating room, and the Women’s Center. Together, we cared for countless women and families facing breast cancer, and I am deeply grateful for the relationships, teamwork, and shared purpose we built over the years. I will still be operating at Broward hospitals and helping this community!

The colleagues, mentors, nurses, staff, and patients I have worked alongside have profoundly shaped both my professional and personal journey.

I look forward to continuing the work I am most passionate about — treating patients with breast cancer — while collaborating with the multidisciplinary team at Baptist Health to provide thoughtful, compassionate, and evidence-based care for our community.

Special mention to Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School and for Innovative Leadership for being on this journey with me as I earn my MBA.

Completed an incredible MBA course in Frankfurt with Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School, focused on Finance in Europe 🇪🇺📊 in May!

We studied at the prestigious Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, gaining deep insight into European capital markets, monetary policy, and financial regulation.

Highlights from this unforgettable experience included:
📍 Visiting the Deutsche Börse (German Stock Exchange)
🏛️ Touring the Deutsche Bundesbank and learning about Germany’s role in the EU economy
🧠 Attending a cutting-edge lecture at Bosch on AI and innovation, which truly opened my eyes to the future of artificial intelligence and its role in shaping global industries
🤝 Networking with executive MBA students from SDA Bocconi School of Management (Milan, Italy) — exchanging ideas over dinner with peers from across Europe was incredibly inspiring. It was a pleasure meeting Dieter Gerdesmeier, Nicola Scopelliti, Luca Colzani amongst others!
🚗 Touring the Mercedes Benz Museum, Stuttgart, Stuttgart Porsche, BMW Munich Autohaus — a powerful reminder of the legacy and precision of German engineering

And the travel was just as memorable — from Stuttgart and Munich to the fairy-tale Schloss Neuschwanstein Castle, the breathtaking German Alps, and the cultural beauty of Salzburg, Austria (birthplace of Mozart and site of the filming of the Sounds of Music).

I’m deeply grateful for this opportunity to expand my perspective on global finance, innovation, and leadership.

Today, on International Women’s Day, I celebrate the strength, resilience, and brilliance of women across the world — especially those who have paved the way in medicine, surgery, and healthcare.

As a surgeon, I’ve had the privilege of mentoring future female surgeons, empowering women in medicine, and volunteering globally to improve healthcare access — particularly for women and girls. I’ve seen firsthand the transformative power that comes when women are given opportunities to lead, heal, and inspire.

To my fellow women in surgery** — you belong here. Your hands will save lives, your voice will advocate for change, and your presence will shatter ceilings for generations to come. Never doubt your place in this field. 💉👩‍⚕️

To the young girls dreaming of becoming surgeons, doctors, scientists, and leaders — keep pushing forward. The world needs your passion and brilliance.✨

Today, I also celebrate the women in underserved communities I’ve had the honor of working with — from Guyana to Uganda — whose strength and resilience continue to inspire me to do more, give more, and be more.
