Ralph Hughes, age 77, of Clarksville, Tennessee, died Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o’clock am, Wednesday, October 28th, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Bro. Barry R***r and Bro. John Dix officiating.

Burial will follow in Gupton Family Cemetery in Henrietta with Daniel Gupton, James Gupton, Michael Gupton, Joseph Adcock, Dan Martin, Nick Halsted, Eric Staggs, and Timmy “Mailman” Farrell serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Mitchell Langley and Jerry Sharpe.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 27th from 3:00-7:00PM, and again on Wednesday beginning at 9:00AM until the hour of service at 11:00AM.

Mr. Ralph was born on September 9, 1949 in Port Royal, Tennessee to the late Albert G. Sr. and Minnie Lee Koonce Hughes. He worked as a custodian at Sycamore Middle School for many years and was also a farmer. He attended Bethel Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Robert Hughes, Helen Shipley, and Mary Ann Gupton.

He is survived by his brother Albert (Sharon) Hughes, Jr.; many nieces & nephews; and his chosen families, The Gupton Family, Nick & Nicole Halsted, Brenda Fielder, Anita Justice-Kokoski, and Bill & Carla Anderson.

Wallace Jett, of Greenbrier, Tennessee, passed away surrounded by the love of his family on Friday, October 23rd. He was born on February 5, 1939, and was the only child of the late Jimmi and Era Mae Jett.
Wallace was a husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He shared his life with his beloved wife, Nell Jett, who lovingly and devotedly cared for him for many years as his mobility declined due to the lasting effects of polio, which he contracted at a young age. Her unwavering love and dedication were a cherished part of his life.
Wallace was a member of Hillcrest Church of Christ in Springfield, Tennessee.
He is survived by his wife, Nell Jett; his sons, Frank (Christine) Jett of Franklin, Tennessee, and Rob Jett of Austin, Texas; and his grandson, Michael Jett of Franklin, Tennessee. He is also survived by Nell’s daughters, Philisa (Larry) Bennett of Springfield, Tennessee, and Kaye (Philip) Avrit of Greenbrier, Tennessee, along with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Wallace will be remembered for talking to others about football, baseball and travel.

Joe F. Wiggins III, age 86, of Joelton, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2026.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12 o’clock noon, Saturday, October 24th, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Bro. Tom Malone officiating.

Burial will follow at 1:15PM in Joelton Hills Memory Gardens in Joelton, Tennessee with Jeff Tolle, John Webb, Rob Shaw, Lee Mitchell McFarland, and Barry Mayo serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home on Friday, October 23rd from 5:00-7:00PM, and again on Saturday beginning at 10:00AM until the hour of service at 12:00PM.

Mr. Wiggins was born on June 16, 1940, in Sewanee, Tennessee to the late Joe and Nan McFarland Wiggins. He retired after more than 30 years with the State of Tennessee where he held the position of Director of Purchasing, Commissioner of General Services, and an appointment leading the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency. He attended Sewanee Military Academy (now Saint Andrew’s Sewanee School) in the 1950s where he was a premier wrestler and Mid-South champion in 1958. He attended Middle Tennessee State University where he was on the football team and went to the Tangerine Bowl. He later served in the U.S. Airforce from 1962 - 1966. Joe was a wrestling official for 24 years; 1967-1989 and former head official for the Mid-Tennessee Wrestling Officials Association and was inducted into the 2009 class of the National Wrestling Hall of...

Nancy Curcillo of North Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully on October 13, 2026 while under Hospice Care at Palmview of Gulf Coast Village. She was 91 years old.
The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm on Monday, October 26, 2026. Funeral services will follow at 2pm in the chapel of Austin and Bell Funeral Home, 2619 Hwy 41S, Greenbrier, TN with Bro. Jon Briggs officiating. Interment will take place in Bethel Cemetery on Bethel Road, Greenbrier, TN.
Nancy was born in Ridgetop, Tennessee on March 10, 1935, the beautiful daughter to O'Geal (Palmer) and James Carney Mayes. She attended Nursing School and was proud to work for many years in a hospital setting as a Registered Nurse. Nancy married her husband Paul Curcillo in Nashville in 1957. After retirement, she moved to Florida and was a longtime resident of Magnolia Landing Golf and Country Club in North Fort Myers.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Cathy (Gordon) Jaffray; three grandsons, Doug (Sara), Michael (Jenelyn) and Brian (Jennifer) and six great-grandchildren, Sadie, Kaylee, Dylan, Nathan, Karson and Reyna; sister-in-law, Joyce Mayes.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; sister Ann Mayes; brother Bill Mayes; grandson Scott Jaffray and son-in-law Gordon Jaffray.

Rita Gail Brown, age 73 of Waite Park, Minnesota formerly of Greenbrier, Tennessee passed away Sunday, October 11, at Sterling Park Senior Living in Minnesota.

A visitation will be held from 2:00-5:00PM, Sunday, October 25 th, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier, Tennessee.

Burial will be on Monday, October 26th at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Nashville, Tennessee at 11:00am with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Rita was born on March 21,1953 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Beatrice & Minnie Vaughn Britt. She was in the retail business for over 25 years. In her spare time, she loved to color. She especially adored her kid fur babies and horses. She was a Christian.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Terry Brown.

She is survived by her son, Larry Brown and a daughter, Terri Lynn Runkle.

Mrs. Sue was born on January 20, 1936, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late Robert & Buena Cofer Batts. She provided childcare for many years for children in the community. She loved flowers and watching birds and bunnies. She also enjoyed plotting ways to permanently remove groundhogs from her yard. She was a member of Pleasant View Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Doug Clymore; sister, Blossom Trotter; and sons-in-law, Mike Walker, Gary Griess, and Doug Demonbreum.

She is survived by her son, David (Beth) Clymore; daughters, Vickie Walker, Angela Griess, and Linda Demonbreum; grandchildren, Audrey (Jhonas) Shores, Tosha (John) Helton, Jennifer Ashley, Joshua (Elizabeth) Demonbreum, and Amanda (Matt) Pulley; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Patsy Cushman “MaPat” Atkins, 89, passed peacefully into eternal life on October 13, 2026, after a brief illness.

Patsy was born in Cheap Hill, Tennessee on June 18, 1937, to parents G.W. and Margaret Cain Cushman.

In addition to her parents, Patsy is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Atkins, whom she married on July 19, 1954; her son, Cushman Atkins; son-in-law, Wayne Shearon, Jr.; and sister-in-law Kathy Forbes Cushman.

She is survived by her sons John Atkins, Hugh (Laura) Atkins, and George (Kim) Atkins; daughter Patrice (Craig) Empson; brother Tom Cushman; grandsons Scott (Dawn) Atkins, Trey (Joanna) Shearon, Bryant (Anna) Shearon, Jonas (Chelse) Atkins, Thomas (Hannah) Atkins, Sean Atkins, Patrick (Taylor) Atkins, and Jackson (Kati) Atkins; granddaughter Alyssa (Nathan) Franks; niece Angela Cushman; daughter-in-law, Beresha (John) Atkins; brother-in-law Arvel (Barbara) Atkins; sister-in-law Doris Cathey; and 13 great-grandchildren with another on the way.

MaPat, also affectionately known by many as “Craig’s Mother-In-Law,” loved her family and was an avid reader and a lifelong baseball fan, following the Atlanta Braves and the Vandy Boys through the bad years as well as the good. She was a member of the Cheatham County Central High School Class of 1955 and was in the Beta Club. She was a member of the Cheap Hill Church of Christ.

Richard “Eugene” Pursley, age 94, of Ashland City, Tennessee, died Friday, October 9, 2026, at his home.

Burial will follow in Blue Springs Cemetery in Ashland City with Daniel Connell, Micah Connell, Brent Pursley, Joey Knight, Ty Knight, Adam Moore, Addison Moore, and Ben Knight serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, October 12th from 4:00-8:00PM, and again on Tuesday beginning at 11:00AM until the hour of service at 1:00PM.

Mr. Eugene was born on July 8, 1932, in Ashland City, to the late Johnny & Gracie Pursley. He was employed by Wholesale Builders, then later worked for Andersen Windows. He loved square dancing, gardening, fishing, and ginseng hunting. He also enjoyed raising chickens and selling eggs. He was a member of Sycamore Chapel church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Pursley; granddaughters, Brittney & Megan Newman; and siblings, Christine Newman, Carolyn Parker Mildred Newman, Ruby Newman, Annie Hornburger, Simon Pursley, John Pursley, and Willard Pursley.

David V. “Dave” Jones, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family. Born April 22, 1941, in Troy, New York, he was the son of the late Edward John Jones and Genevieve Kugler Jones.

Dave was a lifelong resident of Clifton Park, New York, for most of his life before moving to Coopertown, Tennessee, in 2023 to be with his daughter, Dawn. He was a graduate of LaSalle High School, attended RPI and a graduate of Siena College.

Dave dedicated nearly four decades of his career to the New York State Department of Transportation in Albany, New York. He was a hardworking and dependable man who was always willing to help others. A giver by nature, Dave was a caretaker not only to the people he loved, but also to the many dogs who held a special place in his heart.

He enjoyed golfing and watching his favorite sports, especially football, baseball, and hockey. Dave was deeply patriotic and loved his country dearly. He was known for his stubborn streak, quick wit, and wonderful sense of humor. Qualities that made him uniquely Dave.

His dogs were among his greatest loves, especially his long-haired German Shepherds. He was predeceased by his beloved best friend and constant companion, Moose, and is survived by Tank and Hawk, who brought him great joy.

Dave was predeceased by his brothers, Edward Jones, Robert Jones, Jackie Jones, and James Jones, and his sister, Kathleen McGuire.

Susan Elizabeth Polen-Zimmerle, age 79 of Greenbrier passed away Friday, October 2, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Friday, October 9th in the chapel of Austin &
Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier with John Elmore, Dallas Polen, Ian St. Vincent, Hunter Eden, Andy Griffin, Dwayne Wilson, Martin Schmidt and Derek Dowdell serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 8th from 4pm to 8pm at the funeral home and again on Friday, from 12pm until time of service.
Susan graduated from Two Rivers High School in Donelson, TN and went on to the University of Mississippi and then completed her graduate studies in Education at MTSU.
Susan married Wallace Eugene “Gene” Polen and shortly after marriage they moved to Ridgetop, TN in the early 1970's. They had two children, Troy and Shannon. She started her teaching career at Greenbrier Jr. High School and later on in her career she became the Educator of the Robertson County Schools Challenge Program.
Susan always said that “when you start teaching the grandkids of students you have taught, it’s time to retire”. She absolutely loved being an educator making lifelong connections with so many students.
After losing Gene in a car accident in 1986, she married Charles “Chip” Zimmerle to whom she was married until his passing in 2004.
