At Hope Hospice, we believe every person deserves compassionate care, dignity, and respect.

During Pride Month, we recognize and celebrate the diversity of the communities we serve, including our LGBTQ+ patients, families, caregivers, volunteers, and team members.

Our commitment is simple: to provide comfort, support, and personalized care that honors each person's unique life story, values, and relationships.

This month and every month, we remain dedicated to creating a welcoming environment where everyone feels seen, respected, and cared for.

💙 Happy Pride Month.

More than 400 hikers gathered under sunny skies at Del Valle Regional Park in Livermore last Saturday for Hike for Hope 2026 in support of Hope Hospice patients and families. 💙

Participants helped raise more than $60,000 to support essential hospice and grief care services across the Tri-Valley and neighboring East Bay communities.

The day was filled with remembrance, connection, and community, bringing everyone together to celebrate the impact we can make when we walk side by side.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this year’s Hike for Hope so meaningful. Every step taken helps bring comfort, dignity, and compassionate care to those who need it most.

A special thank you to our major sponsors for their generous support:

Country Builders Construction
Graham-Hitch Mortuary
Heritage Bank of Commerce
Kaiser Permanente
Pleasanton Emergency Medical Group
Stanford Medicine Health Care Tri-Valley
Vigus & Miller Construction, Inc.

We also extend our gratitude to our media partners for helping spread the word:

KKIQ Radio
Livermore Independent
Tri-Valley Community TV

Last but not least, a shout out to the Hope volunteers for their tireless efforts as well for their time and dedication every year to this event.

Already looking forward to seeing everyone in 2027!

At Hike for Hope, one of the most meaningful moments doesn’t happen at the finish line. It happens at the In Their Steps wall, a poignant tribute of colorful paper shoes, each bearing a handwritten message by participants for a loved one. Each shoe represents a life walked, a journey shared, and the lasting imprint that person leaves behind.

Join us for Hike for Hope 2026 on May 9 and walk in memory of someone you love or in support of someone in hospice care. Then stay for a community barbecue and raffle, all while making a real impact.

Every step helps fund vital end-of-life care and caregiver support across the Tri-Valley and East Bay. Register at TheHikeforHope.com

Today is National Healthcare Decisions Day, an initiative to inspire, educate, and empower the public and healthcare providers about the importance of advance care planning. Research shows that almost 9 out of every 10 people are aware of advance care planning and believe it is important. However, only about 3 out of every 10 people have taken part in the process or completed any advance directives.

Planning ahead is one of the most meaningful gifts you can give to yourself and your loved ones.
Taking time to think about your healthcare wishes, choosing a trusted decision-maker, and documenting your preferences can bring clarity and peace of mind during life’s most difficult moments.

At Hope Hospice, we’re here to support individuals and families through these important conversations with compassion and guidance every step of the way.
