Being diagnosed with fibroids does not automatically mean you need treatment or surgery.

Fibroids are common, benign growths of the uterus, and many women have them without ever experiencing symptoms. What matters most is not simply whether a fibroid is present, but its location, the symptoms it causes, and your reproductive goals.

Heavy bleeding, pelvic pressure, urinary symptoms, pain, or fertility concerns may warrant further evaluation. For women without symptoms, periodic monitoring may be all that is needed.

The right approach is individualized. Understanding what type of fibroid you have and whether it is actually affecting your health can help you make informed decisions about your care.

Not every ovarian cyst is the same, and size alone does not determine what happens next.

Some functional cysts are part of the normal ovulatory cycle and often resolve without treatment. Other types, including endometriomas, dermoid cysts, and complex cysts, may require closer monitoring or additional evaluation.

When reviewing an ovarian cyst, your gynecologist considers several factors, including its appearance on ultrasound, size, symptoms, age, menopausal status, and whether it changes over time.

If you have been told you have an ovarian cyst, one of the most useful questions to ask is: “What type of cyst is it, and what follow up do I need?”

Knowing the answer can help you avoid unnecessary worry while ensuring that findings requiring attention are appropriately monitored.

Cervical cancer screening has evolved, and the right screening schedule depends on more than simply remembering your last Pap test.

Your age, previous screening results, HPV status, history of abnormal cervical changes, and certain health conditions can all influence when and how you should be screened.

This is why knowing your personal screening history matters. Two women of the same age may not always need the same follow up.

If you are unsure when your last Pap or HPV test was, or whether you are due for screening, review your history with your gynecologist. Staying appropriately screened is one of the most effective ways to identify cervical changes early, when they can be managed most effectively.

When should you consider a fertility evaluation?

For many couples, the answer depends on age, how long they have been trying to conceive, and whether there are known factors that may affect fertility.

A fertility evaluation is not automatically a commitment to fertility treatment. It is a way to gather information.

Evaluation may include assessing ovulation, ovarian reserve, hormone levels, the uterus and fallopian tubes, as well as evaluating the male partner. Fertility is a shared picture, and understanding both partners can provide a clearer path forward.

If you have been trying to conceive without success, or have irregular cycles, PCOS, endometriosis, previous pelvic infections, or recurrent pregnancy loss, discussing your individual situation with your gynecologist can help determine whether earlier evaluation is appropriate.

Information creates options. The next decision remains yours.

Menopause symptoms are not limited to hot flashes.

Vaginal dryness, irritation, painful in*******se, urinary urgency, and recurrent urinary infections may all be related to Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause, or GSM.

Unlike some menopause symptoms that may improve with time, GSM can progress when left untreated. The good news is that effective treatment options are available, including localized therapies and non hormonal approaches.

You do not have to accept persistent discomfort as simply a normal part of aging. A conversation with your gynecologist can help identify the cause of your symptoms and determine which treatment options are appropriate for you.

Endometriosis is more than a painful period. For many women, symptoms can affect daily life, relationships, bowel or bladder function, and fertility, yet diagnosis may still take years.

Persistent pelvic pain, pain during or after in*******se, painful bowel movements or urination during your period, or difficulty conceiving should not be ignored.

Understanding your symptoms and seeking evaluation early can help reduce symptom burden and guide the right treatment plan.

If your period pain is disrupting your life, it is worth having the conversation.

**PCOS doesn't always look the way most people expect.**

Many women assume PCOS only affects those who are overweight or have irregular periods. In reality, Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS) can present very differently from one woman to another, making it one of the most misunderstood hormonal conditions.

What is important to know:

• You can have PCOS even if you maintain a normal weight.
• Some women have irregular periods, while others have regular cycles but elevated androgen levels.
• Difficulty conceiving may be the first sign that leads to a diagnosis.
• Insulin resistance can occur even in women with a normal BMI.
• PCOS is associated with hormonal, metabolic, and reproductive health concerns, not just menstrual irregularities.
• Early diagnosis and appropriate management can help regulate cycles, improve metabolic health, and support fertility goals.

PCOS is diagnosed when at least two of the following are present:
✓ Irregular ovulation or menstrual cycles
✓ Elevated androgen levels
✓ Polycystic ovaries on ultrasound

Every woman's experience with PCOS is unique. Understanding your symptoms, asking questions, and seeking personalized care can help you make informed decisions about your health and future fertility.

If you have been told you may have PCOS but still have unanswered questions, a comprehensive evaluation can help provide clarity and guide the next steps.

Perimenopause is not just hot flashes.
Brain fog, anxiety, sleep disruption, joint pain, and heart palpitations are real symptoms many women experience long before menopause is diagnosed.

Understanding the hormonal changes behind these symptoms can help women feel heard, validated, and treated earlier.

Perimenopause is not the beginning of the end.
It is the beginning of hormonal transition and your body starts speaking long before menopause officially arrives.

Irregular cycles. Mood changes. Brain fog. Poor sleep. Anxiety. Weight shifts. Fatigue.
These are not “just stress” or something you should silently push through.

The most important thing many women are never told:
The years before menopause are often the most critical window to protect long term heart, bone, brain, and metabolic health.

Menopause is diagnosed after 12 months without a period.
But perimenopause can begin years earlier, often in your late 30s or 40s, with fluctuating estrogen levels driving symptoms that feel confusing and inconsistent.

You do not need to wait until symptoms become severe to start understanding what is happening in your body.

Awareness early. Support early. Care early.
That changes outcomes.
