It’s time to register for our annual Walk to End Alzheimer's! 💜 Our team SUBURBAN GERIATRICS will be participating and walking locally again this year Saturday November 12, 2022 at our office location of 2901 Jolly Road Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.

August is National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM) an annual observation to highlight the importance of vaccinations for people of all ages. Vaccinations provide protection from infectious diseases and lesson the severity of illness. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), thousands of American adults get sick each year from diseases that vaccines can prevent. The CDC recommends for adults:
-Everyone should get a flu vaccine every year before the end of October, if possible.
-Adults need a Td vaccine every ten years.
-Healthy adults 50 years and older should get shingles vaccine.
-Adults 65 years or older need one dose of pneumococcal conjugate vaccine followed by one dose of pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine.
-Adults younger than 65 years who have certain health conditions like heart disease, diabetes, cancer, or HIV should also get one or both of these vaccines.
-Adults may need other vaccines based on health conditions, job, lifestyle, or travel.

Today is a day that we at Suburban Geriatrics truly never thought or hoped would come. Tom Gavin, our beloved PA-C is officially retiring and today is his last day with SG. Tom has been a base card in the house of Suburban Geriatrics cards for over 20+ years. Tom has been an excellent resource for not only all things SG, but ALL THINGS!! A great mentor, role model, PA-C and friend, Tom you will truly be missed by everyone! Congratulations on this very well deserved retirement!
