👋 🌲 Welcome to Anna, our Level 2 OT student from St. Kate’s who is with us ALL summer! You’ll see Anna during our weekly groups, summer camps and during our individual OT sessions☀️

We’ve been SO busy the past few weeks but wanted to take the time to acknowledge all the awesome things she’s already done and will learn this summer!

Read her bio here:
“Hi! I’m Anna, an Occupational Therapy (OT) Masters student at St. Kate’s. I have a background in Psychology, International Studies, and Russian and previously worked as a psychometrist, where I helped support pediatric cognitive and developmental assessments.

Outside of school and work, I love to travel and have been lucky to spend time living in Russia, Georgia, Germany, and Ireland. When I’m home, I enjoy reading, playing French horn/piano, quilting/ embroidery, playing board games, going to Saints games, and spending as much time outside as I can (especially if it’s to hike, bike, ski, kayak, swim, or stargaze!).

I currently live in St. Paul with my husband and our little rescue dog, Lindy.”

We’re so happy to have you with us, Anna! 🌼

You see sticks. We see a FUN way to work on foundational skills. 🌲🧠

You see a fort. We see sensory processing, body awareness, sustained attention, frustration tolerance, bilateral coordination, problem-solving, teamwork, and executive functioning in action (to name a few!) 🙌

That’s the magic of nature-based OT—skills grow when kids are engaged, moving, creating, and exploring outdoors.

A few spots remain in our summer camps and group programs. Contact us for details! 🌞

📣 Exciting news to share during OT month!❤️ 🌳

Katie is joining the FUNdamentals in Nature OT Services team as our first employee, just in time for our summer therapy intensives and groups! She is accepting new clients and can’t wait to meet you and your children! 🌟

Katie is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with a multidisciplinary background in psychology and a master’s degree in Biology. Katie brings a unique, whole-person perspective to her work, combining clinical knowledge with a deep understanding of human behavior, development, and the natural world.
🌎
With years of experience supporting individuals across settings including hippotherapy (equine-assisted therapy), home care, and activity-based interventions, Katie specializes in fostering self-regulation through meaningful, hands-on experiences for all ages. She is especially passionate about how intentional activities can support brain function, emotional balance, and overall well-being.
🧠
Outside of her clinical work, Katie finds inspiration in gardening, exploring state parks, and creating with her hands through various crafts. She believes these simple, nature-based and creative activities play a powerful role in regulating the nervous system and supporting overall health. Her personal and professional interests often overlap, as she continues to study the connection between the brain and body through real-life, engaging experiences.
🤸‍♀️
Katie lives in the Twin Cities with her fiancé and enjoys spending time outdoors in all seasons, always seeking new ways to connect movement, creativity, and the natural world.

🌱 We are very excited to have Katie on board!

Mini Camp wins at Klapprich Park in Wayzata on Saturday!🐻🦅✨🌱

The chilly spring weather didn’t stop us from using our animal senses to explore, create, and try new things…

🦊 Using our animal senses to explore food by building animal houses out of snack materials—working on visual motor skills, flexibility, and creativity!

🦅 Using our eagle eyes to spot tiny treasures for our nature jars

🐻 Using our bear strength to try new things—like practicing with loop scissors!

So many small (but BIG!) moments of growth, confidence, and connection . That’s what we are all about at FUNdamentals in Nature OT Services here in MN💛🌿

Thankful for our great partnership with the Wayzata Community Ed
