This allows for a much less invasive approach in comparison to the traditional open technique. FAI is a hip disorder which is caused by an over-coverage of the acetabulum and/or an mis-shaped head of the femur. Ultimately, this causes a pinching mechanisim in the hip joint. This can result in pain, damage to the labrum (a connective tissue in the hip), and it may potentiate arthritis of the hip.
