Earlier this year, our PVHMC Foundation received a gift from the estate of Stuart Elliott, a resident of Upland and longtime volunteer of the hospital who passed in March 2025.
From 2004-2020, he completed an astounding 4,089 hours of service, and enjoyed his latter years of service as a shuttle driver at the hospital. Stuart, known as “Stu” to his fellow Volunteers, was a kind, humble and generous man. He was a frequent donor to Foundation programs and active in volunteering beyond the wheels of the shuttle.
His gift funded the purchase of a new, larger shuttle, which was dedicated in his memory in May of 2026.
“We are deeply grateful to Mr. Elliott for his gift to the Foundation,” says Richard E. Yochum, FACHE, President and CEO of PVHMC. “Each day dozens of patients, visitors and Associates rely on the shuttles to navigate our campus. The shuttles are vital for those with mobility issues, and our shuttle drivers, like Elliott, are often the first friendly face they encounter during their visit.”
