Don’t rest with back pain… At least not every time.
Short periods of rest could help after an injury, but prolonged bed rest can actually delay recovery. Many instances of back pain improve with guided movement, time, and conservative care.
However, if you start noticing weakness, numbness, fever, trauma, or bowel/bladder changes, that can signal a more serious condition and need urgent evaluation.
Either way, don't wait until you're down for the count and stuck in bed for days. If it's keeping you from participating in your daily routine, get it checked.
