This patient came to see us for several months of snotty nose, and then the snot started to have blood in it (oh no!) 🤧

Rhinoscopy showed a large fungal "granuloma" in the back of the left nasal cavity. We picked it apart with the scope to help dislodge it, and biopsied the tissue around it for confirmation.

Nasal fungal infection is just one of the causes of snotty (and bloody!) noses in dogs.

The good news is that it is totally treatable, and even curable! Yay! 🎉

You should talk to your vet if your dog sneezes excessively, and certainly if you notice a runny or bloody nose!

This little guy needs everyone to give him a break. Afterall, he's only 4 months old and hasn't learned yet from all of life's challenges!

So ... he wondered what a sewing needle might taste like! Wait, .. what? ☹️

We got a call from our friends at Allison Animal Care saying that the X-rays show a large needle in the stomach. Brace yourself and take a look for yourself. Yep, that's a needle. No, ... just, noooo! 😱

Take a look through the scope, yep there it is amongst lots of food that was recently eaten. 😲

(it's like looking for a needle in a haystack!) 🙄

Here is the needle out of the stomach!

We are hoping that this sweetie has learned a lesson, but do 4-month-old anything's learn from their mistakes? Let's hope so!

Lil Mama bit off way more than she could swallow! 😲

We got a call from our good friends at Vidalia Veterinary Clinic that Lil Mama was in a bit of trouble with a bone lodged in her esophagus. She was unable to eat or drink, things were not looking good! 😱

You can see the bone on the X-ray stuck in the esophagus just above the heart! Yikes, gulp!

We took a look with the endoscope and yep, sure enough a large chunk of bone was stuck, and causing bleeding of the lining of the esophagus. No, please no! 😢

Using graspers and careful twisting and traction we were able to break the bone into smaller pieces, and one-by-one removed these. Phew!

Lil Mama woke right up and was hungry enough to eat a whole can of food in seconds! No problem swallowing!

We told her the next time she is eating ribs, it's only the meat not the bone!

Cruiser was not going to be shown up by the US Olympic Team (congratulations to all of our athletes in Paris and Go USA!!!). 🇺🇸

Cruiser is no stranger to medals himself!! 🏅He is an expert in barn hunt competition. Not sure what a barn hunt competition is? Take a look at this link. https://www.akc.org/sports/title-recognition-program/barn-hunt/

At 15 years old, he takes on and excels past dogs half his age! Cruiser doesn't let his age (or his inflammatory bowel disease) slow him down!!

We could all learn a thing or two from Cruiser!

You could say that Daisy has a sweet tooth! She was such a naughty girl!! 😘

Daisy smelled some delicious candy up on the kitchen counter and decided to take a little taste. And a little taste. And a little taste ....

The bad news is that there were 48 pieces of candy to taste.

The good news is that there were not 49 pieces of candy to taste! 🤔

Take a look at sweet (get it?) Daisy, the candy wrappers in the stomach seen with the scope, and all of them out of the stomach!

Tip: let's unwrap those candies next time Daisy! 🥰❤ 🍬🍭

As we get closer to summer and start spending more time outdoors with our furry buddies, do you know what ELSE is spending time with you outside?

Do you recognize this plant? ☠️

Take a close look at this one and be sure that your dog stays far away from Sago palms!

These plants can cause liver failure if any of the plant is eaten, especially the seeds — sometimes it only takes a lick!

If you see your dog ingest this plant, please seek assistance from your veterinarian immediately — it’s a “do not wait, go now” type of thing. 🏃‍♀️
