More studies showing decreased risk of dementia with taking the Shingles vaccine. Though not confirmed, still very promising.

A study led by Brown University researchers found that older adults who received the shingles vaccine currently used in the U.S. were less likely to be diagnosed with dementia within four years.

Zero deaths from cervical cancer on 20-24 year olds in England for the first time ever. The HPV vaccine is incredibly effective but only if taken and at recommended pre-adolescent ages.

We already know the vaccine against human papillomavirus, or HPV, greatly reduces infections and cases of cervical cancer, and now we have the first evidence it prevents deaths too

Dr. Duggirala and Dr.Groff attended the Maryland Academy of Family Physicians (MDAFP) Annual Meeting in Annapolis over the weekend. Dr.Groff, as chair of the Well-Being Workgroup, helped coordinate wellness activities for the physician members. Dr.Duggirala completed his role as President of MDAFP and will now transition to the Board Chair.

Dr.Duggirala joined the Maryland Academy of Family Physicians on their annual advocacy day in Annapolis. Family physicians, residents and medical students from around the state visited their legislators to advocate for bills that will help improve the health of all Marylanders
