Poolesville Family Practice was proud to be the Signature Sponsor of the Poolesville Day 5K Run/Walk 2026, and even prouder to have our team out there on the course alongside so many of our neighbors.

Great turnout, perfect weather, and some of the best cheer signs we've seen.

Thank you to the Poolesville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Monocacy Lions Club for putting on another great event, and to everyone who showed up and moved with us.

It’s the 34th year PACC and the Monocacy Lions Club have put this race on, and the money raised stays right here in our community. Come run it, walk it, push a stroller through it. The parade starts right after, so you can make a whole morning of it.

Dr.Duggirala had the privilege of being the keynote speaker at the Meritus School of Osteopathic Medicine (MSOM) white coat ceremony. MSOM, in Hagerstown, is Maryland’s first new medical school in over 150 years. The white coat ceremony is a point of pride as medical students don their white coat for the first time and take on the oath in their first step in becoming physicians.

Dr.Duggirala was invited by the American Academy of Family Physicians to represent and speak on their behalf at the House Democrats Healthcare Stakeholder Roundtable. Dr.Duggirala was proud to bring a family physician voice to this discussion on how to improve healthcare affordability, increase access and improve outcomes by increasing funding for primary care services.

Happy 250th birthday to the USA! Have a wonderful 4th of July! Our office is closed today to allow our staff to celebrate with their families. We I’ll be open for regular hours on Monday July 6th.

More studies showing decreased risk of dementia with taking the Shingles vaccine. Though not confirmed, still very promising.

A study led by Brown University researchers found that older adults who received the shingles vaccine currently used in the U.S. were less likely to be diagnosed with dementia within four years.

Zero deaths from cervical cancer on 20-24 year olds in England for the first time ever. The HPV vaccine is incredibly effective but only if taken and at recommended pre-adolescent ages.

We already know the vaccine against human papillomavirus, or HPV, greatly reduces infections and cases of cervical cancer, and now we have the first evidence it prevents deaths too

Dr.Duggirala will be out of the office to join the American Academy of Family Physicians in meeting with our Maryland Senators and congressional representatives to discuss lower cost sharing for Medicare patients and protect them from harmful Medicare Advantage policies

We would like to thank Dr.Kate Kirksey for the 8 wonderful years she has practiced at Poolesville Family Practice. She has decided to spend more time with her family and will no longer be seeing patients at our practice.

Dr.Groff and Dr.Duggirala will continue to provide continued care for all of her patients.
