As we celebrate, let’s make safety our top priority. Fireworks can cause serious injuries and fires in just seconds. Keep a safe distance, never allow young children to handle fireworks, and always follow local laws and manufacturer instructions. Have a bucket of water or a hose nearby, and never attempt to relight a firework that doesn’t ignite. Let’s celebrate responsibly, look out for one another, and help ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable holiday. When disposing of spent fireworks, make sure to wet down the packaging thoroughly before placing in a bin or dumpster and ensure that the bin or dumpster is far away from any structure. Have a Happy Independence Day from Poplarville Fire Department!
