~Balloon Heart~

I'll tell you a tale of a musician who'd each day sing
breathing words between the walls where she'd stand
beside her red glass balloon heart, tied up with string
writing lyrics when it sparked, before they floated from her hand.

And as she sang, the balloon heart just swelled
till fit to burst with a love which grew in time
and all the unwritten truths too tender to plainly tell
weaving muses into melodies, metaphor and rhyme.

She gave voices to the rising mountains
borrowed feelings and gave them to the trees.
Here her love could flow as freely as a fountain
letting memories softly fall, just as the leaves.

There were words she knew could only exist
upon those walls, seeping slowly from her heart.
Here, there was little left to risk
no matter if one day her words were pulled apart.

Because she seldom wrote only of herself.
For each time that she sat down to write
like a silent actress, or a character from her bookshelf
she, in that moment, became somebody else.

But her heart grew heavy,
cracking at the edges with each new disguise.
Until she could no longer bear to hold it steady
or hide all the truths she'd long locked deep inside.

So she decided it was finally time...
to let the red glass heart loosen from her grip,
watching it drift and fly into the sky...

And with it went the silent words left unsaid,
bringing a single tear to her eye.

“I miss you,”
it simply read.

Y'all ever scroll through your own business page and think, "Yep… this is exactly how I'd sum myself up"?

A little spicy, a little salty, sweet, full of love, educational, slightly unhinged, and just enough FAFO energy. ✌️🤣❤️🐝

And whatever mess comes my way? I handle it like a boss. Quietly, privately, and without airing my dirty laundry, especially when it comes to business.

A reminder for newer cleaners, especially those struggling to grow their pages:

Social media only helps your business when you use it wisely.

Bashing clients, other cleaners, businesses, or products may get attention. It may increase your comments, views, and follower count. But attention is not the same as trust, and followers are not necessarily the people who will hire you.

Your clients are the people actually paying your bills. Before posting anything, ask yourself what it tells them about your judgment, professionalism, and how you might handle a disagreement with them.

I don't know why this has gotten so out of control. Somewhere along the way, parts of this industry traded education and community for hateful comments, public humiliation, endless pricing debates, and personal attacks.

I have removed myself from many of these groups.

Please remember that you do not have to participate in that culture to grow.

Show your work. Teach what you know. Explain the why. Protect your clients’ privacy. Support other professionals. Build authority through consistency, education, and results.

If you genuinely feel lost or out of touch, find a mentor. Ask questions. Learn. Grow.

But blasting every disagreement across social media doesn't strengthen our profession. It makes clients question all of us.

You can build an audience through conflict, or you can build a business through trust.

Know the difference.

A few trusted staples + a regular client's 3-hour Reset. 🐝✨

Two full bathrooms, kitchen, living + dining area, dusting, floors, and vacuuming three bedrooms.

And square footage has never told me how long a home will take. I've spent hours in small apartments and moved quickly through much larger homes.

Condition, buildup, surfaces, belongings, and how regularly a home is maintained all matter.

I've been caring for this home for several months now, so each visit gets a little easier to maintain.

With so many cleaning products out there, how do you choose? 🐝

I know it can feel overwhelming. There's always another product and someone telling you this one is better than that one.

My advice? Start by asking yourself what matters to you.

Are environmental considerations important to you? Do you care who makes the products and what the company stands for?
Preservation-first or more aggressive methods?

Then look at the job itself.

What is the surface?
What's the buildup?
How long has it been there?

And what tools are being paired with that product?

That last one matters.

Personally, I keep my shelf pretty simple: Sal Suds, Mama Be Clean, including RestorePaste, and Athos.
I occasionally use Bio-Clean or BKF when the situation calls for it, but MBC has replaced much of that need for me.

I don't get caught up in "this is better than that."

Show me the surface. Show me the method. Show me the result.

Because the fastest clean isn't always the best clean.

I'm thinking about what happens to that surface long after I leave. ❤️🐝
