A nonprofit is more than an organization; it is a community of people coming together around something they believe matters.

On this National Nonprofit Day, we’re thinking about all the people who make VHOCC possible.

The volunteers who give their time.

The donors who support compassionate care.

The staff who answer calls, visit patients, support families, and guide them through difficult moments.

The healthcare providers and community organizations who partner with us.

And the patients and families who invite us into one of the most personal chapters of their lives.

VHOCC belongs to this community, and our work is possible because this community continues to show up, for us and for one another.

Today, we celebrate you.

Thank you for helping create a community where people approaching the end of life, and the people who love them, do not have to navigate that journey alone.

Happy National Nonprofit Day from all of us at VHOCC!

Today is National Nonprofit Day, a day to recognize organizations created not for profit, but for purpose.

At Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County, our purpose is simple: to be here for our neighbors when they need compassionate end-of-life care and support.

Because of the generosity of our community, VHOCC provides hospice and palliative nursing care, grief support, medical equipment lending, education, and other resources at no cost to patients and families, and without billing Medicare, Medicaid, or private insurance.

That makes our nonprofit model a little unusual. It also makes it deeply rooted in community.

Every donation, volunteer hour, partnership, conversation, and act of support helps make it possible for us to care for our neighbors with compassion, dignity, and respect.

On National Nonprofit Day, we celebrate not just VHOCC, but the remarkable community that has made this work possible for nearly five decades.

Thank you for believing in compassionate care for our community.
