Graduation 2026

Each year continues to be my favorite.

Each year, I get choked up as I try to speak on graduation night.

Each year, there is so much love and pride in the room, families, children, and our team.

And each year, it is hard to say goodbye.

This year was especially meaningful for Linda and me. We were blessed to host graduation at Encounter, a beautiful location that holds deep significance for us. The stage where our children graduated is the same stage where Ms. Linda was baptized. It is also the same stage where I stood at the beginning of the school year, praying over our school, our teachers, our families, and our children. These children.

Knowing that the year began with prayer in that space and ended with celebrating these precious graduates on that same stage made the evening even more special. It added a layer of meaning that is difficult to put into words.

Graduation is always such a meaningful celebration of growth and the incredible journey of childhood. Watching our students confidently walk across the stage, surrounded by the people who have loved and supported them, is a moment we never take for granted. Thank you to all of the families and friends who joined us to celebrate such a precious milestone.

But what if preparing for Kinder and Kinder was treated like college prep?

Early childhood is so much more than preparing for grade school years, it is the preparation of who a child will be throughout their life.

Children need more social emotional development, freedom to explore, intentional discovery, honoring childhood as a sacred time full of experiences that will shape who a child becomes.

The world’s leading universities and employers consistently point to the same characteristics as predictors of long term success:

Critical thinking
Problem solving
Creativity
Collaboration
Adaptability
Emotional intelligence
Communication
Self motivation
Resilience
Curiosity

The irony is that many of the qualities schools, universities and employers now desperately seek are the very things being squeezed out of childhood in the name of “school readiness.”

College prep is not academics or standardized tests.

Class of 2026.

This group holds such a special place in our hearts as the very first HSLC Pre-K class we had the privilege of loving from infancy all the way through graduation.

From little babies and first steps, to the incredible young adults you have become, what an honor it has been to witness a small part of your journey.

We are so proud of each of you and all that lies ahead. As you step out into the world, know that you will always have people here cheering you on, believing in you, and celebrating the paths you create for yourselves.

What began as a dream has grown into something far greater than we could have ever imagined.

For 17 years, HSLC has been filled with
little footsteps,
the sweetest laughs,
milestone moments,
growing relationships,
and a program built in love and purpose.

We are beyond grateful for every family who has trusted us, every teacher who has poured their heart into this mission, and every child who has left fingerprints on our hearts along the way.

HSLC is so much more than just a program.
It is a village.
A second home.
A place of earliest childhood memories.

Thank you for growing with us, believing in us,
and being part of this story.

We were honored to celebrate the incredible women of HSLC and the beautiful role of motherhood in all of its forms.

Because of you, we have the privilege of knowing and loving some of the most incredible little people. The kindness you pour out, the sacrifices made behind the scenes, the long days, sleepless nights, unwavering support, and unconditional love all shape the hearts of children in ways the world may never fully see.

Motherhood is some of the most important work there is.

To the mothers, grandmothers, bonus moms, expecting moms, grieving moms, the women still waiting, and the women who mother through love and presence—today we celebrate you.

Thank you for trusting us with your greatest treasures.
