Acadiana Practitioners Specialty is proud to welcome Dr. Michael “Mike” Doucet, MD, and Jennifer Marchand, NP, to our dermatology team in Opelousas.

Together, they bring decades of healthcare experience and a shared commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered dermatologic care to our community.

Dr. Doucet has practiced medicine in Opelousas for 39 years. He earned his medical degree from LSU in Shreveport and completed his residency training through LSU in New Orleans. His extensive experience and longstanding connection to the community will be invaluable as we expand access to specialized skin care close to home.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Doucet enjoys following LSU athletics and attending games. He and his wife have been married for 46 years and have three children, eight grandchildren, and another grandchild on the way.

Jennifer Marchand brings more than 30 years of nursing experience to Acadiana Practitioners Specialty. She has practiced as a Family Nurse Practitioner for the past eight years, including three years specializing in dermatology.

Jennifer is passionate about helping patients achieve and maintain healthy skin through the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of skin conditions. She places particular emphasis on skin cancer prevention, sun protection, routine skin screenings, and educating patients so they can make informed decisions about their health.
