Remember, you don’t always need full braces treatment again to fix shifting teeth.

Sometimes it’s just one tooth in photos that bothers you.
Sometimes it’s a little crowding from not wearing retainers.
And sometimes… life just happened.

Touch-up Invisalign is designed for patients who only need small corrections instead of full orthodontic treatment again. In many cases, treatment is shorter, more affordable, and focused only on the areas that need improvement.

We can treat just the top teeth, just the bottom teeth, or both.

And yes, adults of ALL ages do this. Even into their 60s, 70s, and beyond.

If there’s one tooth that’s always bothered you, it may be easier to fix than you think.

Those little bumps on Invisalign trays? They’re not mistakes. They’re doing the heavy lifting.

Invisalign attachments help your aligners grip the teeth and create the specific movements needed for your smile transformation. Some help with rotations, some act like anchors, and some help move teeth up and down more predictably.

The truth is, Invisalign in real life looks a little different than the commercials… and that’s a good thing. Predictable movement = better results.

At Charlotte Advanced Orthodontics, every attachment is placed intentionally to help create the best possible outcome for your smile.

Rubber bands might be one of the least favorite parts of braces or Invisalign… but they’re also one of the MOST important.

Straight teeth are only part of the goal. Rubber bands help correct your bite, guide your teeth into the right position, and help everything settle together properly before braces come off.

Overbite? Underbite? Closing spaces? Settling the bite?
That’s where elastics come in.

And yes… they can be used with Invisalign too.

At first, they can feel frustrating and awkward to put on. But just like anything else, it gets easier with practice. The patients who wear their rubber bands consistently usually see the best results and stay on track with treatment.

Have questions about your elastics? Ask us at your next appointment or send us a message. We’re always happy to help.

That little spring in your braces? It’s doing a lot more than you think.

This is called a Forsus appliance and it’s one of our go-to tools when the lower jaw needs help catching up to the upper.

Instead of relying on rubber bands (that you have to remember to wear), this appliance:
1. Gently pushes the lower jaw forward
2. Helps reduce an overbite
3. Works 24/7: eating, sleeping, school… all of it

Think of it as built-in compliance… it does the work for you.

Most patients wear it anywhere from 3–6 months depending on how much correction is needed. Once the bite is where we want it, we remove it and finish detailing your smile.

End goal?
A balanced bite and a confident smile, without the stress of remembering elastics.

Headgear… but not the kind you’re thinking

A reverse headgear (face mask) is one of the most effective ways to help guide jaw growth in kids, especially when the upper jaw is smaller than the lower.

Here’s why timing matters
The upper jaw stops growing around ages 8–9, while the lower jaw keeps growing for years. That’s why we like to evaluate patients early, so we can work with growth, not against it.

✔️ Helps bring the upper jaw forward
✔️ Worn mostly at home (no school required)
✔️ Typically 12–14 hours/day
✔️ Often started during summer for easier wear

Our goal?
To create a balanced smile and help prevent the need for jaw surgery later on.

Curious if your child may benefit from early orthodontic treatment?
Ask us at your next visit or send us a message.

Save this for later and share with a parent who needs to see this.

Overbite? Braces alone won’t fix this.

When the lower jaw sits too far back, we use something called a MARA appliance to guide it forward while kids are still growing.

Think of it like gentle, controlled pressure that helps the jaw catch up and create a more balanced bite.

The goal?
✔️ Better function
✔️ Better profile
✔️ Avoiding jaw surgery later on

Timing matters with this one, which is why early evaluations are so important.
