Masthead Pink

Masthead Pink Breast Surgery Products for the Modern Woman

Masthead Pink was founded in early 2011 by Elizabeth Chabner Thompson, MD, MPH, a New York physician and former breast surgery patient who observed both professionally and personally the acute need for a comprehensive line of products that would improve the patient experience before, during and after surgery and other treatment for cancer, breast reconstruction, traumatic brain injury, cesarean ch

ildbirth and other conditions. Our mission focuses upon developing products and services, which improve the patient experience before, during and after hospitalization in a way that preserves dignity and enhances recovery while maintaining the highest ethical standards and transparency. “If my story helps just 1 person then it’s worth it to get it out there.”

We’re always grateful when patients share their experiences, especially when they’re willing to do so in hopes of helping someone else.

“I didn’t realize that I would end up gravitating toward a favorite bra after mastectomy. My surgeon picked the Masthead Elizabeth Pink Surgical Bra for me and it became my favorite right away.”

“The self-adjusting ability of the Velcro® on the shoulders, sides, and front closure was absolutely perfect in being able to maximize my comfort during healing. It’s comfortable, dependable, supportive, and the one I’d wholeheartedly choose again.”

And this part meant a lot to us:

“If my daughter ends up having a double mastectomy then I would choose this bra for her too.”

Thank you Kimberly, for sharing your story with us and with the community. 💗

No two recovery experiences look the same.

The surgery, the timeline, the support around you, the hardest day — all different.

What stays the same is the need to feel comfortable, supported, and like yourself again.

That’s what we’re here for. 💗

At NTI 2026, many of the conversations we had around post-surgical recovery were much more focused on practical recovery support and real-world usability.

We spoke with nurses and clinical teams about patient compliance, mobility during healing, fit and skin integrity concerns, discharge support, and reducing complications across breast surgery, cardiac, and cardiothoracic recovery.

Again and again, the conversations came back to how recovery support functions in real clinical environments for both patients and care teams.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to share what you’re seeing in practice! 🩷

“I wasn’t scared. I was ok.”

That line stayed with us. 💕

“When I woke up from surgery, I felt this bra to be so comfortable and almost healing.”

Valerie shared this with us just 5 days after breast surgery, along with an update that she’s healing well and that her Masthead bra made follow-up appointments “easy and simple” for her doctor to check healing.

Recovery can feel really overwhelming before surgery. Hearing experiences like this means a lot to our team.

Masthead is in Chicago for AATS 2026 💗

Less than 24 hours after ASBrS, we’re here for a new set of conversations—this time in cardiothoracic care.

What stands out is how much attention is being given to consistency in post-op care and the role of the care team in shaping recovery day to day.

We’re seeing that come to life in real ways, with Masthead bras already being used in clinical studies and nurse-led cardiac protocols.

Different specialty, but the same idea: the details around recovery matter.

If you’re here, we’d love to connect 🤍

ASBrS 2026 💗

Spent the past few days in some really thoughtful conversations around where breast care is heading.

More focus on tailoring treatment to the individual patient, continued evolution in surgical approaches, and strong collaboration across care teams.

It’s clear the field is moving toward more intentional, patient-centered decision making.

Grateful to be part of it and to support the patient experience alongside the clinical work.

Take a minute to check in with your body.

Knowing what’s normal for you makes it easier to notice when something changes.

If something feels different, trust that and get it checked 💗

Small habits like this can make a real difference.
