The Town Council's legislative session scheduled for Tuesday, August 4, 2026, will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Town Hall, 64 S. Main Street, and will be available via Zoom.

This meeting will include a public hearing regarding the Bainbridge Property Annexation (Annexation Resolution No. 11-2026).

The Town of Port Deposit has a full-time maintenance position with benefits available in the Public Works Department.

Applicants must have public works experience, a valid Maryland driver's license, and a high school diploma or GED. Applicants must also be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
ANNEXATION RESOLUTION NO. 11-2026

The Mayor and Council of the Town of Port Deposit will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. in Town Hall, 64 S. Main Street, Port Deposit, MD for Annexation Resolution 11-2026 and Exhibits, Annexation Agreement and Annexation Plan for consideration to enlarge the corporate boundaries of the Town of Port Deposit by annexation of 34 acres, more or less, Tax Map 29B, Parcel 348, Phase IA, East of the BG&E Right-of-Way I the Fourth Election District of Cecil County, known as the “Bainbridge Property” and in so doing to repeal and re-enact with amendments Article II, Section 201 Records and Description of Corporate Boundaries, of the Charter of the Town of Port Deposit.

Annexation Resolution No. 11-2026 was introduced at the 05/19/2026 Council meeting and referred to the Planning Commission for consideration and recommendation on 06/25/2026. A copy of the Resolution and Exhibits are available on the Town website at: www.portdeposit.org or at Town Hall, 64 S. Main Street, Port Deposit, or call 410.378.2121 or email [email protected] to have the documents mailed or emailed. Those wishing to participate in the meeting via video conference may go to www.zoom.us at 7:00 p.m. and enter meeting ID: 853 2147 4680 or via audio by calling (301) 715-8592 and follow the prompts to enter the meeting ID listed above.

☠ Support the 5th Annual Port Deposit Pirate Takeover!🧜‍♀️

For the past four years, the Pirate Takeover has been one of the Town’s most anticipated events, welcoming residents and visitors for a memorable weekend along the waterfront filled with entertainment, food, activities, and, of course, pirates and mermaids.

This free, family-friendly event is scheduled to return to Marina Park on September 19 and 20, 2026, for its fifth year. To make this year’s event a success and ensure this community tradition can continue, we need the support of sponsors.

Although the event is free to attend, it is not free to produce. Sponsorships help fund the food, entertainment, children’s programming, games, prizes, staging, safety support, and other expenses that make the weekend possible while keeping the event free and accessible to all families.

The Pirate Takeover also brings Community Connecting Us’ mission to life by creating shared experiences, strengthening community connections, supporting local tourism, and helping CCU continue its work serving local families and community members in need.
