John had 2 fawn sightings in one day! One came to visit him during a graveside service at the cemetery, and then when he got back to Marysville Funeral Home, there were 2 relaxing in the shade behind our parking lot🦌

This weekend we honor our fallen military heros. Let us never forget their sacrifice. Below are several ceremonies taking place throughout the Blue Water Area that are family friendly and a wonderful way to teach the next generation about the price of freedom.

🇺🇸 A ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 24 at Allied Veterans Cemetery (corner of Gratiot and Krafft Roads).
🇺🇸 The St. Clair County Memorial Day parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 25 near the Zebra Bar and proceeds down Huron Avenue to Pine Grove Park for a short ceremony.
🇺🇸 The Marysville American Legion parade begins at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 25 from Post 449 and proceeds down Huron Boulevard to the Marysville Park where a ceremony will be held.
🇺🇸 The front gates of Memorial Stadium on 24th Street in Port Huron will be open from 1-3 p.m. Monday, May 25 for the public to access the memorial and leave flowers.
🇺🇸 The Blue Water Area Fallen Heros banners are displayed throughout the county and more information on each hero can be found on their website at bluewaterareafallenheroes.org.

Many of our team members will be attending the Michigan Funeral Directors Association conference this week. MFDA represents over 85% of Michigan funeral homes and provides members with ongoing training, education, and resources to maintain high professional standards. Members also adhere to a code of conduct that prioritizes fairness, confidentiality, and respect for the deceased and their family, enforced by an ethics committee. Working with an MFDA funeral home gives you a higher level of accountability and professionalism. We're grateful for the learning opportunities MFDA provides!

Kylee Crane was one of 25 applicants selected from around the country to participate in the National Funeral Directors Association Meet the Mentors program in Washington DC this week. This annual leadership development experience for early-career funeral directors is a great opportunity to learn from and network with national leaders in our profession. In addition to all the learning, she's enjoyed the opportunity to sightsee as well!!

Operation Transformation and Blue Water Area Churches put on a lovely Good Friday Service. Our own Lurlene Nichols helped lead with worship dance and many locals Pastors ended the service with this acapella hymn. It's Friday... but Sunday is coming!! ✝️
