It has officially been 4 years since I graduated from Massage Therapy school!

The last 4 years have taught me so much. It has taken a lot of hard work, perseverance and flexibility to get to where I am today and I am so grateful for those that supported me along the way. This career has been so rewarding ❤️

💢Massage Tip Monday!💢

We learned last week, that you shouldn't feel pain during your massage. However, depending on what type of massage you receive, you may feel sore for a few days after, especially if it's your first massage or you haven't had one in a while.

Why does this happen?
During massage, your therapist is manipulating your muscle tissue with pressure, stretching, etc and your tissues aren't necessarily used to that and are comfortable where they are at. It also helps increase your blood circulation leading you to feel sore or your skin to feel warm.

How to minimize your soreness
1. Drink extra water! I usually tell my clients to drink 2 to 3 glasses on top of what your normally do.
2.Use a heating pad. This will help soothe your muscles.
3. Don't overdo it the day of your massage. Use me as an excuse to not do any housework! 😁

Have a great rest of your Monday, friends!

What a beautiful day to have our next
💢Massage Tip Monday!💢

Let's talk deep tissue!

The first thing when someone hears the words "deep tissue massage" is probably a muscular person giving you all the pressure they've got, or perhaps a "no pain, no gain" thought process.
Well, that's not entirely true! Now, is there more pressure involved? Yes. But should it hurt? NO!
Deep tissue massage is more about leverage, working slower than you would think and long, slow, purposeful contact with your muscles to get past the surface to the deeper ones. Sometimes it's prolonged pressure where you need it, to help that muscle relax.
Deep tissue is not for everyone either, have a discussion on what's best for you with your therapist and trust the process.

Have an amazing day, friends and enjoy the sunshine!
