Today Port Jervis marches in the 168th Annual Inspection Day Parade “Fireman’s Day Parade” — believed to be the longest continuously running firemen’s parade in the nation, dating back to 1858.

One part of this tradition means something special to us: before every parade, PJFD members visit the graves of their late past chiefs — 40 of them, resting in our local cemeteries — to read their names aloud. Service remembered before service celebrated. That’s Port Jervis.
