Enjoyed attending Eggs & Issues this morning with the Daytona Regional Chamber. Great to hear updates on community safety and law enforcement initiatives from Mike Chitwood, Sheriff of Volusia County, and Jakari Young, Chief of Police for the Daytona Beach Police Department.

Both shared important insights about the advancements being made to keep our community safe. Always grateful for leaders who work tirelessly to protect and serve Volusia County.

PMR had the opportunity to attend the 2026 State of the County luncheon, an annual event highlighting Volusia County’s progress, priorities, and vision for the future. It’s always valuable to hear updates on economic development, infrastructure, public safety, and initiatives shaping our region. Staying engaged and informed allows us to better support the growth of our community and the people we serve. Grateful to be an active part of a county that continues driving forward while honoring its strong foundation.

Meaningful conversations and powerful collaboration defined our time in Tallahassee.

During Volusia Days at the Capitol, we had the opportunity to meet with Representative Webster Barnaby and Representative Chase Tremont to share the work we’re doing at Progressive Medical Research — expanding access to clinical trials and advancing innovative treatment options for patients right here in Volusia County.

We were also grateful to hear from Secretary Melanie Griffin of the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation, whose insights provided valuable perspective on statewide initiatives.

What made this experience especially impactful was the collaboration among our Chambers and local leaders. Building relationships, forming new friendships, and working together across organizations strengthens our collective voice and helps create a thriving, unified community environment in Volusia County.

Advocacy is about connection. It’s about showing up, listening, and ensuring our local healthcare community is represented where decisions are made.

Volusia Days brings together business, healthcare, and civic leaders to engage directly with state officials and learn about legislative initiatives that impact our local communities.

It was inspiring to stand with fellow advocates committed to strengthening Volusia County — ensuring our voices are heard and our region continues to grow, innovate, and thrive.
