What happens when an Italian bank doesn’t want paper or stock certificates as loan collateral?

THEY TAKE CHEESE. 🧀🏦

Since 1953, the regional Italian bank Credito Emiliano (Credem) has accepted whole, 80-pound wheels of authentic Parmigiano-Reggiano as collateral for low-interest loans to local dairy farmers.

Producing authentic Parmesan requires a massive upfront investment: each wheel must age between 18 and 36 months before it can legally be certified and sold. To help farmers bridge that multi-year cash flow gap, the bank takes the fresh wheels and stores them directly in its two high-tech, climate-controlled, heavily secured vaults.

🔹 The Bank as Caretaker: While inside the vault, bank-employed master agers inspect, turn, clean, and test each wheel for acoustic resonance (listening for internal cracks with a silver hammer).
🔹 The Payoff: Once matured, the farmer repays the loan and sells the finished product. If a producer defaults, the bank simply matures and auctions off the cheese itself.

At any given time, Credem holds around 300,000 to 500,000 wheels of cheese across its vaults—backing roughly $150–$200 million in active loans. Talk about solid liquid assets!

Yes, we are OPEN today! 🍁

We hope everyone had a wonderful, restful weekend! Whether you have the day off or are navigating a busy Monday, we are here with normal adjusting hours.

❓Did you know that chronic knee pain often starts higher up?

When the pelvis or lower back is slightly shifted out of alignment, your body naturally compensates. That subtle shift alters your gait, forcing one knee to absorb uneven impact with every single step. Before you assume worn cartilage or a bad joint, it’s worth checking whether your foundation is level.

Realignment restores balanced mechanics so your knees don’t have to do the heavy lifting alone. Need to see Dr Burnett? Reach out to Laura and Brittany and they will get you taken care of!

Happy Monday!

Happy Wednesday!

Fun Fact: Think muscle cars were all grit and growl? Meet the 1969 Dodge “Mod Top.” 🌸⚡

In 1969, Dodge offered an official factory package designed to channel late-60s flower power directly onto high-octane muscle: an authentic psychedelic floral vinyl roof.

While marketed to attract a wider audience to dealership floors (ladies), only 26 Super Bees ever left the factory wearing this bold green-and-yellow floral roof. Many dealers were so baffled by the look that they peeled off the vinyl and replaced it with standard black tops just to move them off the lot.

Today, surviving factory Mod Tops are among the rarest and most coveted collector cars in American automotive history.

Would you rock the flower-power roof, or are you peeling it off?

🤰🏻Why Pelvic Ligaments Matter So Much in the Second & Third Trimesters

Most conversations around pregnancy discomfort focus strictly on back muscles or weight distribution, but the real structural shift happens at the ligament level.

During pregnancy, the body releases relaxin to allow the pelvic ring to widen. While this flexibility is essential for birth preparation, it also means the deep stabilizing ligaments—particularly the sacrotuberous ligament anchoring the base of your spine to your pelvis, along with the p***c symphysis in front—must work twice as hard to maintain pelvic balance. 💪🏽

When the pelvis tips forward or rotates unevenly:

🔹Ligament tension increases on one side, creating deep gluteal or tailbone tenderness.
🔹The p***c joint experiences uneven shear, making walking, getting out of the car, or turning over in bed uncomfortable.
🔹Surrounding muscles tighten up in an attempt to manually stabilize what the ligaments usually hold.

Specific, gentle prenatal chiropractic care focuses on restoring symmetry to the sacrum and pelvic ring—easing tension on overstretched ligaments so your body can adapt smoothly as baby grows.

Pregnancy care has been a specialty and love of Dr Burnett’s for 26 years. He was actually able to learn Webster’s Technique from Dr Webster and Jeanne Ohm, and taught it along side her, long before certification was available!
