Meet Kanisha, our In-Service Director!

Kanisha has been part of our community, on and off, for many years. She actually began her journey with Miller's as an outside vendor, serving as our lab technician. After becoming a nurse, she joined our team and has continued to make a positive impact through her dedication and compassion.

A few months ago, Kanisha was promoted to In-Service Director, where she works hard to ensure our staff has access to the most up-to-date education and resources needed to provide the highest quality care for our residents.

When she's not at work, Kanisha loves spending time with her two grandbabies and making special memories with them.

One of the many benefits of being part of the Miller's team is our Books & Tuition Program, which helps employee-owners continue their education while working by covering the cost of books and tuition.

Kiki is a wonderful example of this opportunity in action. She has been a dedicated CNA with Miller's for the past five years and is on track to graduate from nursing school this December.

At Miller's, our Occupational Therapy Department is dedicated to helping patients regain their independence and confidence. Our Real Life Therapy Gym is equipped with adaptive equipment and specialized tools that provide a safe, supportive environment for practicing everyday activities. From preparing meals and doing laundry to completing other essential daily tasks, our therapists help patients build the skills they need to return to everyday life with greater confidence and independence.

Rosemary is the Executive Director at Portage Millers. She has been with Millers for 2 years and 2 months.

Rosemary says her most memorable moment was during our first Prom. Seeing the residents, families, and staff laughing, dancing, and having a great time together was truly special.

Rosemary also has her hands full with her 3-year-old Great Dane, Azza, whom she adopted from Forever Friends Great Dane Rescue. She enjoys spending time with horses and making sure her flowers are thriving!

Renne is our Admissions Director at Portage Millers. She has been a nurse for 20 years and has been with Millers for 18 of those years! She started as a Unit Manager before transitioning to Admissions 15 years ago.

The most rewarding part of her job is knowing she can help ease some of the stress for residents and their families during a difficult time.

When Renne isn't working, she loves to shop, spend time with her family, and spoil her mischievous little dog, Bubba.

Congratulations to our Employee of the Month, Rachel Burgos! Rachel is our Environmental Supervisor and has been a valued member of the Millers team for 28 years.

Rachel's favorite part of her job is getting to know the residents and their families. She enjoys listening to their stories and being a caring, supportive ear.

She has many wonderful memories from her time at Millers, but her favorite is when her stepdad, Charlie, was a resident. They attended the Sweetheart Ball together, where she had the honor of watching him be crowned King. She will always be grateful for the opportunity to share that special evening with him.

In her free time, Rachel enjoys spending time with her family and granddaughter, cruising around on the golf cart for ice cream, watching movies, and attending concerts.

Thank you, Rachel, for your 28 years of dedication and for everything you do for the residents at Millers!
