We are happy to formally introduce our newest BCBA Jessica!! Jessica may be new to climb but has been in ABA for a decade and a BCBA for 7 years. Jessica has always been interested in languages and is a life long Spanish learner. She originally sought out to be a speech therapist. Then PSU opened a BCBA program and Jessica found that being a BCBA fit her interest and motivation better. She discovered ABA has so much to do with speech and communication but it also dives into the behaviors that happen when the ways to communicate are gone. Since working in ABA she has had experience in homes, clinics, schools, and work with parents remotely.

When Jessica is not at climb, you will most likely find her chilling with Archie, her Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Weenie mix breed), going to the coast, or spending time with her two teenagers. When she is at climb you will find her helping practicum students, behavior support, having team meetings, parent training, supervising, etc. She truly does it all!

What excites Jessica the most with starting her journey with Climb, is the teamwork! Jessica has gotten a taste of how collaborative and thoughtful the Climb team is and cannot get enough. She loves all the quick support and care that everyone has offered. Both Climb and Jessica are excited to have each other.

Advice from Jessica:

When asked “What advice do you have for a parent that is going to start ABA for their child?” She responded with “Be prepared to openly and sincerely look at your own behavior patterns and functions, Then find a team where you can do that without judgement” and her advice to Behavior Technicians starting off is; “remember that some of the simplest strategies are the ones that work and don’t forget to work as a team”.

Huge shoutout to Pride Renovations for giving us beautiful new flooring!! They came on the weekend and worked extra long hours so that we wouldn’t have to cut therapy hours for any of the kids! Can’t thank you enough!
