Some friendships are simply meant to be.

Sixteen years ago, Michelle and Aimee met at a library Book Babies event. They happened to live near each other and were both new moms, navigating the joys and challenges of early motherhood while pausing their careers. Michelle was a chemical engineer, and Aimee was a speech therapist. What started as a chance meeting quickly became a lasting friendship.

During Dr. Brigham's medical residency, Michelle was a steady source of support for Aimee, and over the years, their friendship grew.

Today, that friendship is at the heart of Aluma.

If you've visited the practice, you've likely been welcomed by one of these two smiling faces. They are often the first to greet patients, answer questions, and help make your visit feel comfortable from the moment you walk through the door.

Lip filler results on the day of treatment can look beautifully refreshed right away. However, it’s important to remember that swelling is visible on the day of treatment and is often more noticeable the next day. ✨

These before-and-after photos were taken on the same day as the procedure, so the lips might still appear fuller or more swollen within the first 24–48 hours as your body responds naturally.

Some patients, especially older individuals with thinner skin, might also experience bruising during healing. Both bruising and swelling are temporary and usually improve considerably within the first week.

Last month, I celebrated another birthday — and one of the things I felt most grateful for was choosing to start aesthetic treatments in my 30s.

This 8-year time lapse is personal for me. My “before” photo was taken about two years after having my second child. I was tired, I looked tired, and I didn’t quite feel like myself.

Over time, thoughtful treatments have helped support my skin, collagen, facial balance, and confidence. And honestly, they’ve supported my disposition too.

I created Aluma Aesthetic Medicine with women in mind. So many of us give and give, like The Giving Tree, until we sometimes feel like the stump at the end of it all.

For me, aesthetic medicine has always been about feeling restored, supported, and more like myself again.

Thank goodness for dermal fillers, collagen-booster treatments, and thoughtful maintenance over time. And, of course, my husband - Dr. B- too. 🤍
