Joyce Inez (Jones) Leath, age 94, of Portland, TN, passed away on October 16th, 2026 at Oak Hill Senior Living. Mrs. Leath was born in Whitleyville, TN on February 13th, 1932 to the late John Henry Jones & the late Myrtle Heady Jones. Mrs. Leath was a lifelong member of Clearview Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Leath was preceded in death by her husband, Donnell Leath; brother, James Henry Jones.

Mrs. Leath is survived by her three sons, David (Betty) Leath of Springfield, TN, Jeff Leath of Hendersonville, TN, & Dwight (Carol) Leath of Clarksville, TN; grandchildren, Jonathan (Jennifer) Leath of Lebanon, TN, Jennifer Schock of Hendersonville, TN; step grandchildren, Stacey Postell of Epsworth, GA, Michael Kendall of Springfield, TN, Johanna Albrecht of Lebanon, TN; eight great grandchildren; brother, Ward (Joyce) Jones of Russellville, KY; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral service for Mrs. Leath will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 20th, 2026 at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Moore and Bro. James Parker officiating.

Interment will be in Portland Memorial Gardens.

Visitation for Mrs. Leath will be on Monday, October 19th, 2026 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm & on Tuesday, October 20th, 2026 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home.

Ray Dean Eidson, age 77, of Cottontown, passed away on October 6th, 2026 at Highpoint Health-Sumner in Gallatin, TN. Mr. Eidson was born in Portland, TN on September 8th, 1949 to the late William Harlan Eidson and the late Pauline Eidson.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Eidson was preceded in death by his brother, William O. (Sonny) Eidson.

Mr. Eidson is survived by his wife of 58 years, Beverly Eidson; sons, Kevin (Tracy) Eidson & Galen (Nikki) Eidson; grandsons, Taylor (Roberta) Eidson, Trent (Tannah) Eidson, Tanner (Morgan) Eidson, & Bryce Eidson; granddaughter, Dallas (Jordan) Armstrong; great grandchildren, Ella Eidson, Bennett Eidson, & Liam Eidson.

Funeral service for Mr. Eidson will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 9th, 2026 at Mt. Pleasant General Baptist Church with Bro. Clayton Hall & Bro. Gary Sullivan officiating.

Anna Jane Hurt, age 84, of Portland, TN, passed away on September 24th, 2026 at American House Assisted Living in Hendersonville, TN. Mrs. Hurt was born in Franklin, KY on December 21st, 1941 to the late Vernon Stephens & the late Viola Fowler.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hurt was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Hurt & son, Ricky Keen.

Mrs. Hurt is survived by her children, Robert Anthony “Tony” Keen of Portland, Rhonda (Johnny) Andrews of Gamaliel, KY, & Jason Allen Keen of Oklahoma City, KY; several grandchildren; & great grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie Myatt of Murfreesboro, TN, Connie Perdue of Portland, & Patsy Stephens of Hendersonville, TN.

Raymond Theodore “Fuzzy” Knight, 97, departed this life peacefully at home on September 8, 2026 Portland, TN. Raymond was born in Macon County, TN on December 23, 1928 to the late Odell J. and Arminter A. Knight.

Raymond is survived by his loving daughters Judith Kay (James Paul) Hartbarger and Joni Rae Hughey, a huge extended family and network of friends and neighbors he loved dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his cherished wife of 70 years, Mable Ruth Knight, daughter, Kimberly Dawn Knight, sisters Pauline Slack Van Dolsen, Lilly Baker, Beulah Clark, Delia Johns, Goldie Dunn, Irene Knight, and brothers Willie Knight and Eugene Knight.

Raymond graduated from Portland High School in 1947. He served as a Sargent in the United States Air Force from 1951-1955 and was extremely proud to have been a Korean War Veteran. After he was honorably discharged from the USAF, he began a career at Tennessee Gas Transmission, where he worked as an Accountant until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of Portland First Baptist Church.

Besides taking care of his family, he loved fishing, sports, fitness, lawncare, gardening, solving word puzzles, chatting with people, and fixing anything/everything from cars to household items.
The family would like to express gratitude to all of his healthcare providers and staff who always treated him with upmost respect.

A special thanks is also extended to his nephew Lloyd Knight and niece Frances Gregory who both made sure he had a social outing every week if health allowed as well as Claudean Williams, his next door neighbor and friend who took him to the fitness center weekly until his health declined along with providing support to his daughters in many ways. Lastly, a special thanks to his best friend since high school, Ray “Cooner” Link for the many laughs and stories they shared.

Funeral service will be held at Wilkinson and Wiseman Funeral Home, Portland, TN at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 13, 2026, with Bro. Jacob Haywood officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 13, 2026 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Portland, TN including military rites. Please call funeral home or visit their website for further details.

Gale Goostree Wilkinson, age 90, of White House, passed away on September 7th, 2026 at White House Healthcare & Rehab. Mrs. Wilkinson was born in Cross Plains, TN on July 25th, 1936 to the late Marlin Goostree & the late Gladys Dee Jones Goostree.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wilkinson was preceded in death by her sister, June Denning; brother, Wayne Goostree.

Malachi Virgil Moss was born March 11, 1944, to the late Malachi and Mattie Lou Moss.

Malachi married the love of his life, Barbara Runnels Moss, and together they built a life and a family that meant everything to him. Barbara passed away on June 10, 1996, but the love they shared never left him.

Malachi was a hardworking man who believed in providing for and taking care of the people he loved. He dedicated many years of his life to the Nashville Fire Department, doing a job he truly loved. After a long career of serving others, he hung up his helmet and turnout gear in 2004.

But of all the titles he carried throughout his life, one of the greatest was simply Papa.

He was an amazing Papa who loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly. His family was his greatest legacy, and the love he gave them will continue through generations.

Malachi was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Runnels Moss; his oldest daughter, Sheila Gale Milliken; and his grandson and Papa’s baby boy, Austin Wayne Dill.

He is survived by his son, Darrin Moss, and his daughter, Ginny (Terry) Dill.

He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Stacey Milliken (Micheal), Kyle Milliken (Clara), Jessica Nunnery (Trevin), Amanda Bledsoe (Ryder), and Dylan Moss (Andrea); and his great-grandchildren, Harlee and Mylee Young; Channing, Stella, Hudson, and Lainey Nunnery; Jaxson and Shaley Bledsoe; and Canaan and Chandler Moss.

For those who loved Malachi, saying goodbye is incredibly hard. But there is comfort in knowing what was waiting for him on the other side.

After 30 years apart, his bride was waiting for him.

His daughter, Sheila, was waiting for her Daddy.

And his grandson, Austin—his Bubba—was waiting for his Papa.

Malachi didn’t enter Heaven’s gates alone.

He was welcomed home by some of the people he had missed and loved the most.

The firefighter finally answered his last call, hung up his helmet one final time, and went Home. ❤️

Charles Glen Stephens, age 90, of Portland TN, passed away on September 7, 2026 peacefully at rest. A leap year baby, he was the youngest of ten children born to the late Harvey Cleveland Stephens and Mary Elizabeth Walden Stephens on February 29, 1936.

Mr. Stephens was a member of Hollis Chapel General Baptist Church for over 75 years and served as a deacon for over 30 years. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force for four years, then worked at Yale and Towne and later at General Electric. He was an original American Picker. He loved to thrift shop and collect antiques and vintage items. He volunteered and supported the Old Brush Cemetery Ice Cream Social for many years as he was able. Above all, he loved God, his family, and his country.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of nearly 60 years, Willa Janette Stephens, six brothers: Jerome Stephens, Roy Stephens, Aubrey Lee Stephens, Roland Stephens, and JP Stephens, and three sisters: Sally Jewel Stephens, Frances Stephens Walker, and Cora Stephens Johnson.

He is survived by his two children, Glenda Kay Stephens of Portland, TN and Charles Robert ( Sherry) Stephens of Portland, TN; three grandchildren Rachel ( Sean) Kavanagh of Ashburn, VA, Trent ( Allison) Stephens of Portland, TN, Tyler ( Brooke) Stephens of Portland, TN; five great- grandchildren: Clare Kavanagh, Audrey Kavanagh, Knox Stephens, Maelee Stephens, and Kenna Kate Stephens. Mr. Stephens is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and a host of friends.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday September 10, 2026, 4:00PM-8:00PM and Friday September 11, 2026, 10:00AM-2:00PM at Hollis Chapel General Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Mr. Stephens will be Friday September 11, 2026, at 2:00PM at Hollis Chapel General Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Trent Stephens, Rev. Kenneth Tyler Stephens and Rev. Victor Creasy officiating.

Burial will follow at Old Brush Cemetery in Portland, TN.

John McCloud, 76 of Portland, Tn. passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2026, Mr. McCloud was born July 22, 1950 in Portland, Tn. to the late Walter McCloud Jr. and Minnie Bell Gregory in Portland, Tn.

Along with his parents, Mr. McCloud was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Ann Roberts.

Mr. McCloud is survived by his children, Debra Kay Oliver(Michael), John Kevin McCloud(Tiffany), and Brian Walter McCloud; grandchildren, Chase Allen McCloud(Audrey), Amber Latosha Roberts, Samuel Adam Roberts, Daley McCloud, Katie McCloud, Dallon McCloud and Damon McCloud; great grandchild, Natalie McCloud; siblings, Evelyn McGuffie, Violet Ryan, Joe McCloud(Linda), Helen Perry(Billy), Mary Livingston(Donnie) and Nancy Hill; Mr. McCloud is also survived by his former wife, Betty, who remained a close and caring part of his life.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Lee was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Marie Lee.

Mr. Lee is survived by his son, Timmy (Susan) Lee of Bethpage; daughter, Nancy Perdue of Portland; grandson, Patrick White of Portland; sister-in-law, Barbara (Willard) Shelton of Lakeland, FL.

Wanda Jane Wilburn Kirkham went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ early on August 29, 2026 surrounded by her family at her home in Portland, TN. She was born in Gallatin, Tennessee on June 22, 1943 to the late Glasgow Wilburn and Laura Alice Gregory Wilburn. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Lee Kirkham and her sisters, Laurine Moore, Josephine Woodall, Glenda Briley and Sarah Sue Brown.

Mrs. Kirkham is survived by her sons, Robby (Margaret) Kirkham and Randy (Gail) Kirkham as well as her grandchildren, Brandon (Ashley) Kirkham, Kelly Jane (Caleb) Rigsby, Dillon (Ashley) Kirkham and Austin Kirkham. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, Madison Faith Kirkham, Avery Jane Kirkham, Emmett Jase Kirkham, Barrett Corey Kirkham, Stella Jane Rigsby and Asher Lee Rigsby. Additionally, she is survived by sister, Faye Saunders; brother, Jimmy (Amy) Wilburn; sister-in-law, Charlotte Jenkins; nephews, Jeffrey (Shelley) Jenkins, Jason (Sarah) Jenkins, Will (Teresa) Saunders; and nieces, Jane (Mike) Christian, Jeanne (Mike) Cox, Donna (Dwayne) Lett, Tammy Weatherford and Jennifer Briley as well as numerous great nephews and nieces.

Wanda was saved as a girl and after she was married became a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she faithfully attended for over 60 years. She was concerned about the salvation of her family all the way to her last few hours on earth. She was deeply loved by her family, neighbors, friends, and fellow church members and she will be greatly missed.

Calvin and Wanda Kirkham were cattle farmers in the Sulphura community of northern Sumner County all their lives. They were blessed to own some of the most beautiful farmland around with green pastures, rolling hills and patches of trees, that runs on both sides of Dobbins Pike. They were also co-owners of Dickson Livestock Center in Dickson TN for several decades. Wanda loved to garden, and just a few weeks ago made several quarts of dill pickles that were a favorite of her family’s.

Visitation for Mrs. Kirkham will be at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home in Portland, from 10:00 A.M. till 9:00 PM on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026 & on Thursday, September 3rd, 2026 from 11:00 AM until time of service at 2:00 PM.

Funeral service for Mrs. Kirkham will be held at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 3rd, 2026 with Elder Ronnie Briley & Robby Kirkham officiating.

Burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery on East A.B. Wade Road in Portland.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Kirkham, Dillon Kirkham, Austin Kirkham, Caleb Rigsby, Madison Kirkham, Emmett Kirkham and Joe Carter. Honorary pallbearers are Avery Jane Kirkham, Stella Jane Kirkham, Barrett Kirkham, and Asher Rigsby.
