Spring is in the air! And with it comes the urge to get out and enjoy the warmer weather. But before you hit the trails or head to the beach, be sure to schedule a lymphatic drainage massage.

Like many of my clients, I have sensory sensitivities. Scent can be a particularly strong one, so I only use scent free laundry detergent and never wear scents while working. We can also have the window open for maximum air flow and fresh air.

Soapbox time:

I'm not here to hurt you. Massage shouldn't hurt. You shouldn't have to hold your breath, go elsewhere in your brain, or wish for the experience to be over.

I don't want to work like that. 1) The research shows that it's not beneficial. 2) It is harder on my body! 3) In my opinion, it's unethical.

Part of our culture is the belief that anything worthwhile has to be hard. That's not true. Let's find ease, working *with* your body, not against it. Together, we'll use breath, awareness, and focused, specific work to help your body get back to where it wants to be.

Who can benefit from Manual Lymphatic Drainage therapy?

Basically, if you have a lymphatic system, it'll benefit you! (If you don't, the medical community will like to see you immediately 😁)

The most common reason to seek out MLD is swelling. If you struggle with swelling, either chronic or post illness/surgery, you're going to see immediate benefits as we work together to help your body process the stored lymphatic fluids.

In addition to being deeply relaxing and gentle, MLD has been shown to be incredibly helpful for those with auto immune disorders, such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, and scleroderma. Since MLD is literally mechanically assisting the lymphatic system, it is going to support the function of the immune system, to which is intrinsically linked.
