Meet one of our residents, Stanka Jovanovic!
Stanka has called Holladay Park Plaza home for 17 years, bringing with her a lifetime of achievement, curiosity, and adventure.
Born in what was then Yugoslavia, Stanka studied metallurgical engineering before moving to the United States to earn a master’s degree in chemistry. Her career spanned a fascinating range of scientific work, including research involving lunar samples from NASA’s Apollo program, and later expanded into education, where she helped create an educational foundation and science center connecting students, teachers, and scientists through hands-on learning.
Retirement has been no less productive. Stanka has written her memoirs and several books, three of which can be found in our library. She has also been an active member of the Holladay Park Plaza community, serving on resident committees and capturing everyday moments through her photography.
We are grateful to have Stanka as part of the Holladay Park Plaza family and thank her for sharing her story with us!
