The work we do is heavy. It can be physically, mentally, and emotionally demanding. And sometimes, after a particularly tough week, we all need a little laughter.

Thankfully, we have an incredible team of people who work hard, support one another, and know how to have a little fun along the way.

This is one of the things we love most about being a small, family-owned business. We work hard together, we get through the tough days together, and we find reasons to laugh together.

Even if that means our Facilities Manager, Ralphy has to wear a basketball hoop on his head. 🏀😂

In the early morning hours, before most people had left for work, our team was quietly preparing to accompany Captain Ray Williams, Windham Police Department (Ret.) to the crematory with the care and dignity he deserves.

We are honored to support his family, the Windham Police Department - Maine, and Greater Portland’s first responders as they remember a man who dedicated his life to serving others.

We never expect anything from the families we serve. Their trust is more than enough. Still, it’s wonderful to know when our team is truly able to make a difference.

Recently, two separate families humbled us with thoughtful gifts to express their appreciation: a gift card to one of our favorite restaurants, Bruno's Restaurant and Tavern and some delicious treats. Their kindness gave our team a wonderful opportunity to gather on Friday for some take out, and enjoy a few moments together.

We’re grateful for their generosity and for every family who places their trust in our care.

Today marks 12 years since Caitlin and I became owners of the funeral home. It’s hard to believe how quickly those years have gone by.

We’re grateful for the families who have trusted us to care for someone they love, our team who gives so much of themselves every day, and this community that has supported our family along the way.

We’ve met so many wonderful people through this work, often during some of the hardest days of their lives. We never take that trust for granted. Thank you for letting us get to know your families, hear your stories, and help honor the people you love.

A lot has changed in 12 years, but we’re still a local family caring for other families. That’s something we’re proud of, and something we remain committed to.

We love this family-owned restaurant!

Every family business has a beginning, and this was ours. Bob Napolitano outside the original location on India Street in 1981, long before Allen Avenue and long before Bruno’s became a tradition for so many Portland families. More than four decades later, we are still family owned, still serving this community, and still grateful for everyone who has been part of the story along the way. Come be part of it.

Earlier this week, Adam and Greg played a round of golf with our longtime funeral attendants, Mike and Mark. While we were away, the rest of our team had a little fun with AI - and apparently, Greg was arrested for impersonating a golfer. 😂

Thankfully, Officers Mike, Mark and Adam were there to bring him to justice! 🚔
