“Facelift prices are a joke. I’m going overseas when the time comes.”
Honestly, I understand both sides.
For some people, traveling abroad is the only realistic way they’ll ever be able to afford a facelift.
And that’s not a trivial thing.
Looking better can impact confidence, dating, social interactions, career opportunities, and how you feel every time you look in the mirror.
If the choice is between having a procedure overseas or never having access to it at all, I understand why many people choose to travel.
It’s one of the reasons I’m spending much of June in Korea and other parts of Asia. There is incredible innovation, talented physicians, and often a lower cost structure than we see in the United States.
The real issue isn’t geography.
The real issue is doing your homework.
There are amazing surgeons in the United States.
There are amazing surgeons overseas.
And there are bad outcomes everywhere.
The mistake is choosing based on price alone.
A facelift isn’t a commodity.
It’s your face.
Research the surgeon. Look at years of results, not just a few Instagram photos. Ask who handles complications. Ask what follow-up looks like. Ask what happens if you need a revision.
Sometimes traveling abroad can be a fantastic decision.
Sometimes it can become a very expensive shortcut.
The goal isn’t finding the cheapest facelift.
The goal is finding the right surgeon, at a price you can realistically afford, with a plan for long-term care.
I’d rather see someone get a great facelift in another country than spend years wishing they had done something but never being able to afford it.
What are your thoughts? Would you travel overseas for a facelift?
