Beloved Massage & Bodywork Amy combines her experience in multiple healing and bodywork practices to create customized sessions for each individual.

Amy is a native to Portland, Oregon, USA. She travels and moves around a lot, spending her free time exploring new locations and cultures. In 2017 Amy attended East West College of the Healing Arts to learn massage therapy. Since then she has added many modalities to her repertoire. In 2018 Amy travelled to Tokyo, Japan and studied Usui Reiki with her teacher, Yuko Kubota. The first Attunement had just a profound impact on her that she continued to study with Yuko, receiving her second Attunement just before returning to the USA. Working in a holistic fashion combining Reiki with Bodywork, Amy loves working with clients and helping them reconnect and become aware of their bodies. Facilitating a calming and safe environment, she guides others in their journey to health and happiness. In her personal journey Amy has had the privilege of working with many amazing teachers, such as Maka’ala Yates (Hawaiian Mana Lomi) and Pichest Boonthumme (Thai Massage). These teacher’s approach to body and energy work overlap in many ways. The most noticeable is the connection to culture and intention. By working with her teachers and integrating their mindfulness and cultural practices, Amy is able to create a unique and connected space for her clients to relax and receive the most out of their sessions. Amy offers both in-person and distance Reiki treatments. All in-person body and energy work sessions are based on her current location.

A couple weeks have passed since I taught this class, and I keep coming back to how special that room felt – the energy, the openness, the questions, the connections made. Some experiences just need a little time to sit with before you can put them into words.

I am so grateful for those students, and already looking forward to the next time I get to teach.

If you are interested in starting your Reiki journey, please send us a DM or email and we can schedule your private lesson today.

The anterior shoulder is one of the most overlooked areas in massage therapy — and one of the most impactful.

Often when we feel tightness in the back there is a tightening in the front. When the shoulders roll forward it stretches and weakens the back while shortening the front.

Releasing tension in the shoulder girdle here can mean the difference between a client who sits up straighter and one who finally sleeps through the night.

Suboccipital traction – gentle, sustained decompression at the base of the skull – releases a deep muscles that contribute to headaches, eye strain, brain fog, and neck stiffness. When these tissues, finally let go, the whole nervous system gets a chance to breathe.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this region is home to powerful acupoints, including GB 20 (Feng Chi) and BM 10 (Tian Zhu) – gateway is used for centuries to treat stiff neck, relieve eye strain, fight, insomnia, and decrease pain.

This is the work. Quiet, precise, profound.
Visit me in NE Portland at Beloved Massage & Bodywork where we assist to restore balance and remember how to breathe.

Your side body holds more than you think.

When the lower back and rib cage get stiff, the shoulder has to compensate. That tension can travel up the chain – limiting overhead reach, pulling on the neck, and creating stubborn tightness that stretching the shoulder alone won’t fix.

By releasing the side body, you:
• Create space between the
• Improve breathing mechanic
• Reduce strain on the lower back
• Restore, smoother shoulder mobility
• Break long-standing tension patterns

Mobility isn’t just local – it’s connected. Free the ribs. Support the spine. That the shoulders move the way they’re meant to.

Try this and notice how much lighter your upper body feels.
