I knew I was going to be a chiropractor when I was 14 years old. I had no idea I’d end up with an eating disorder because of it.
Now I teach other healthcare providers how to reduce shame and stigma in folks in larger bodies. It is important as healthcare providers that think about the potential trauma we may cause during a visit.
I just opened a size inclusive chiropractic practice in Springfield, MO. I’m here to help.

Yesterday was International No Diet Day and I wanted to leave this here because honestly, this message doesn’t expire.

Give yourself the permission to eat and enjoy food.

Not “earn” it. Not “make up for it later.” Not eat it while mentally calculating what you’ll need to do at the gym tomorrow.

Just eat it. Enjoy it. Move on with your day.

After 16 years of working with patients and 9 years of unlearning diet culture myself, I can tell you that the single most radical thing you can do for your health is stop punishing yourself for eating. Food is not a moral issue. Your body is not a problem to solve.

If you’re a healthcare provider still recommending restriction to your patients, I say this with love: we were taught wrong. And we can do better.
If you’re someone who’s been told your whole life that your body needs to be smaller before it deserves care, rest, joy, or a second plate… that was never true.

Permission granted. Today and every day.

Drop a 🍽️ if you needed to hear this.

Lower body day for larger bodies and this one felt so good. We hit goblet squats, Romanian deadlifts, static split squats, glute bridges on the floor with a dumbbell, and cable hip abductions. I was working between 25 and 30 pounds but please use whatever weight feels right for your body today. Heavier, lighter, no weight at all. There is no wrong answer here. Movement gets to be yours.
If you want to try this workout, save this video and come back to it whenever you’re ready.

🗣️ Sleep apnea affects millions of people, yet it’s still widely misunderstood. When people speak up about their experiences, it helps break stigma and reminds others they’re not alone.

As a chiropractor, I often see my patients more frequently than any other provider on their care team. That means I have the opportunity to ask about sleep, screen for red flags, and start important conversations that might otherwise get missed. I’m proud to say I’ve helped several patients get the care they needed after I suspected they had obstructive sleep apnea.

Here’s what I need you to hear: sleep apnea does not have a size, shape, age, or gender. It can affect anyone. And every single person deserves to be offered gold standard treatment options first, not brushed off or told to “just lose weight” because they live in a larger body. When that happens, it’s not evidence-based care, it’s bias, and it costs people their health.

💥 That’s exactly what our campaign is all about, bringing real faces, real stories, and real awareness to the forefront. Let’s make impossible to ignore!

This Thanksgiving I’m grateful for things I used to think were impossible - eating without rules, wearing clothes that feel good instead of “flattering,” and showing up as myself in my practice and at this table. Recovery from diet culture extremes gave me something I never expected: peace.

What are you grateful for this year?

The DOE just decided some healthcare students deserve federal loans and others don’t.

Spoiler: we’re all losing.

I’ve seen the backlash—nurses and PTs upset that chiropractic “made the list.”

But the problem isn’t who’s ON the list. It’s that the list exists at all.

It’s easier to punch laterally at professions we perceive as “less legitimate” than to fight Congress and the DOE.

But that’s exactly what they want—healthcare providers divided while the system stays broken.

Let’s redirect this anger where it belongs.

The danger of delaying treatment - Part 2

5 dangerous facts about delaying sleep apnea treatment

I’m Dr. Jenny, a weight-neutral chiropractor living with OSA. While doctors tell you to lose weight first, your heart and brain are at serious risk every single night—and intentional weight loss has a 95% failure rate anyway.

The research is clear: OSA severity (not your weight) predicts outcomes. Even after massive weight loss from bariatric surgery, 71% of people still have moderate-to-severe sleep apnea. Meanwhile, untreated OSA nearly triples your cardiovascular risk.

You deserve treatment now. Not after you’ve “earned it.”

Which fact surprised you most?
