As a child, ๐๐ซ๐ข๐š๐ง ๐ƒ๐ซ๐ฎ๐ค๐ž๐ซ took apart clocks to understand how they worked. Decades later, the same curiosity led him to challenge how cancer itself could be treatedโ€”helping pave the way for ๐ข๐ฆ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ข๐› and the era of targeted therapy.

Twenty-five years after one of oncologyโ€™s defining breakthroughs, Dr. Druker reflects on the curiosity, setbacks, and patients who shaped a discovery that transformed the lives of people with chronic myeloid leukaemia.

Itโ€™s a reminder that behind every breakthrough is not only great science, but the people courageous enough to question what everyone else accepts.

A team at OHSU became the first in Oregon to implant a new type of radioactive tile roughly the size of a postage stamp to improve the outcome for patients with brain tumors.

โ€œItโ€™s a way of delivering radiation immediately after surgery and increases the effectiveness of surgeries to remove these tumors in many cases,โ€ said Dr. Stephen Bowden:
