The bathroom is often and important labor place. So many great labor tools are available in such a little space. The shower, the tub, the toilet.

The shower is a fantastic comfort tool, especially in earlier labor when getting in a birth tub might slow contractions down. A shower in normal life is an amazing thing. A shower in labor can feel 10x as good.

The toilet, sometimes referred to by birth workers as the dilation station. Laboring on the toilet can help progress, our bodies are used to relaxing our pelvic floor muscles on the toilet, can help us open our pelvis for baby to descend.

While most modern bathtubs are not ideal for labor they can still be an adequate tool for a shallow hip bath (more ideal in early labor), but also a great height for leaning against during contractions or while pushing your baby out.
