Randy H Zasloff, LPC owner of Finding Flow Counseling, LLC provides mental health and addiction counseling to adults and adolescents. Randy draws from a variety of counseling techniques (DBT, MBSR, interpersonal neurobiology, family systems) to help clients clarify their challenges and goals. Although counseling is often “talk” therapy sometimes “experiencing” or “doing” can be a more direct path
toward making change. Randy includes “experiential” activities such as: mindfulness practice, expressive art therapy and equine facilitated learning in working with clients. As a Graduate of the HEAL Facilitator Training Program for Equine Facilitated Learning, Finding Flow Counseling also offers equine facilitated psychotherapy and learning as an option for clients. Research conducted using the HEAL model in a brief (10 sessions) treatment of adult women with complex PTSD and co-occurring disorders including substance abuse & depression showed: significant reduction in depression, reduced anxiety and clinical improvement in overall functioning. In addition, participants considered horses a critical element in their healing, and reported that the treatment had positively impacted their lives and were using specific skills they learned as part of the treatment.
