What does it mean to be a soul sister, to nurture and prune a 10yr friendship?
I will always be grateful to .copper who knew way before us that we would be friends!
🌵 I will gladly hold a cactus out of your sunroof
🗳️ Find a half hour to sit together at the park and fill out our ballots
😢 Sit and cry together thru a moment that requires nothing else
🐶 sneeze my way thru a visit because I forgot my allergy meds
🌑 catch an eclipse together
🖼️ chase down art vendors hours before our flight
🛠️ DIY literally anything
🌿 tend to your plants without asking
✨ share in your fav river spots
🌷 parking lot bulb swaps
🫘 getting you all you can eat beans and chili anytime you want
And I’ll always treasure our first outing where you taught me how to standup paddle board on the dock 10 minutes before a standup paddle board yoga class, THAT summer, our trip to Oaxaca, our coworking dates supporting eachother building things before we knew what we were building, and somehow ending up at a plant shop. How can I ever say thank you enough for the roofs over my head?
One beautiful thing, is that I don’t know when it stops being a friendship and when I becomes chosen family. When you know you can enter without knocking. When a phone call can start with DUDE and go straight into the happening. When something happens in public, you just look at eachother knowing you’ll have a big laugh about it later, but for now, hold it together. When you can celebrate the greatness of the outter expression and hold space for the hardship and chaos behind the scenes.
We have seen eachother at our most tender and hard mements and cheered so loud for the triumphs. For me, that’s a measure of friendship, and something that can only come with time and presense.
🥂cheers to a lifetime!
