It means that you’ve probably internalized some messages that say:

🙅🏻‍♀️It’s NEVER okay to go less than 100%.
🚫It’s bad to not give it your ALL - all the time.

It’s good to know that it’s there. For now just notice.

Diet Culture says gentleness is weakness. That if we aren’t harsh - even brutal - with ourselves then we’ll get lazy. We’ll slack off. But that teaches us to disregard - even disconnect - from parts of ourselves. Those unique parts of us that make us human.
