How are you showing up for Earth Day?

CHANNEL YOUR CLIMATE ACTION — investigate injustices, battle societal inertia, and work on being your best self. These roles are not mutually exclusive. You can embody more than one simultaneously, or in different realms of your life.

What role do you play? How can you provide healthy role models for young people?

So many of us are trying to make sense of a world that feels heavier every year, for ourselves and for our kids. Climate change isn’t just one problem; it’s many at once.

That’s why new words like solastalgia matter. They help name the quiet grief we feel when the places we love begin to change.

In Surviving Climate Anxiety, I share the parable of the blind people and the elephant to show how each of us sees only part of the story. When families talk, listen, and learn together, we build the fuller picture our children need to feel grounded and hopeful.

In a time when it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, here is something to help you envision what flourishing can look like.

This manifesto is an invitation to imagine a life rooted in resilience, meaning, and care, for yourself, for others, and for the world you’re part of.

Read it slowly. Breathe it in. Let it remind you that a hopeful future isn’t naive, but something we practice.

You’ll find the full manifesto in my book, Surviving Climate Anxiety.

“The personal is planetary.” 🌍

In times of climate stress, taking care of your own mental health isn’t selfish. It’s essential. When we support ourselves emotionally, we’re better able to support our families, our communities, and the world our kids are growing up in.
