Each year, we close for a week or two to give our spa the love it needs after serving our guests almost every other day throughout the year. We strive to maintain its Portland quirkiness while also making improvements each year to make our guest’s experiences even better. She’s looking more beautiful than ever after this last one. Huge shoutout to our maintenance team and the effort required throughout the year and especially during these closures!

In moments like this, we are reminded of the profound, unspoken connections that transcend words and logic. A bond between a child and his service dog is not just companionship—it is a form of healing that bridges two souls, one seeking comfort and the other offering unconditional love. In this beautiful image, the boy, often overwhelmed by the sensory demands of the world, finds solace in the quiet presence of his furry companion. The mother’s tears are not just of joy but of deep gratitude, witnessing the transformative power of this bond.

This connection speaks to the very core of what it means to be interconnected. Just as nature and humanity are woven together in a delicate balance, so too are our relationships with animals. Dogs, often called humanity’s best friend, have a unique ability to understand emotions, offering love where words fail. The act of laying down, relaxing, and trusting another being is a step toward healing—not just for the boy but for everyone present in this moment.

Let this remind us of the power of connection and presence. In a world that sometimes feels disconnected, there is still an abundance of love waiting to be shared in simple, powerful ways. Have you experienced a bond that changed your life? Share your story below! 🐾💛
