Summer can still be a joyful and memorable time while you prepare for your new arrival.

While most pregnancy symptoms are normal, certain signs during the summer should prompt a call to your provider.

- Dizziness or lightheadedness that doesn’t improve with rest and hydration
- Signs of heat exhaustion, such as nausea, rapid heartbeat, or confusion
- Persistent swelling in the hands, face, or legs
- Contractions, cramping, or unusual discharge

If you have questions about managing summer pregnancy symptoms or want to learn more about prenatal care, our team at Northwest Women’s Clinic is here to help.

Reviews like this remind us why we love what we do. 💗

"I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Griffiths and her incredible MA, Berenice. From the very first appointment through delivery, they were the most warm, supportive, and caring team I could have asked for during my pregnancy.

Pregnancy can feel vulnerable and overwhelming at times, but they consistently made me feel heard, respected, and genuinely cared for. Dr. Griffiths always took the time to answer our questions thoughtfully and never made us feel rushed. When we worked on our birth plan, she fully respected what was important to us while also offering thoughtful medical insight and experience that helped us feel confident and prepared.

During labor, she was incredibly motivating and calm. Her presence helped me feel unbelievably supported and safe, and I truly believe her encouragement made such a difference in my experience. Because of her care, I had the most comfortable pregnancy and the best labor I could have possibly imagined.

Berenice was equally amazing. She was always a prompt communicator and brought such warmth and kindness to every interaction. Every appointment felt welcoming because of her, and she made the whole experience feel personal and supportive.

By the end of this journey, it genuinely felt like they had become part of our tiny family. I am so grateful to have had Dr. Griffiths and Berenice by my side during such an important moment in my life. If you are looking for an OB who is knowledgeable, compassionate, and deeply invested in her patients, I cannot recommend Dr. Griffiths highly enough."

A teen’s first gynecology visit is usually more about conversation than examination.

We can help answer questions about periods, cramps, birth control, and what’s normal during puberty — all in a comfortable, respectful environment.

Our goal is to help teens feel informed, supported, and empowered to take charge of their health. 💪

PCOS officially has a new name: PMOS.

The change reflects something many patients have felt for years. This condition affects so much more than the ovaries. Hormones, metabolism, energy levels, weight changes, fertility, cycles… it’s all connected.

We broke down what the name change means and why it happened in our newest blog post.
